Not worth the money maybe? I only have the £20 pack - don't really want to have to pay over 50% more to get the same stuff again...

Because SD is good enough. For me.

Obviously its a personal thing, but after an initial 5 minutes I get lost in the thing I am watching and care less about the picture quality. I'm not saying HD is not better, it clearly is, but for me I don't get enough extra enjoyment over watching HD over SD to justify paying more.

F1 tv coverage could really do with an overhaul. For years in IndyCar they've had those HD airbox mounted cameras that swivel to capture all of the overtaking manoeuvre. It would be nice to see innovations like that brought to F1.

£20 p/m doesn't really seem worth it over freeview for just basic Sky.

Freeview reception here is terrible sadly. I also do watch a few shows on FX and throw in Sky broadband (which admittedly you can get now without TV) and it was the cheapest option for me.

well yes i agree, but the technical challenges in f1 prevent that kind of feature. an oval track is way easier to implement that kind of thing versus say, spa. the reception towers would have to be in very specific places for complete coverage.

Not a problem, only 7 of last season's 17 races were on ovals.

Was there earlier, he does an absolute nailed-on EJ.

The Autosport interviewer wasn't too bad, but the F1 Magazine guy was awful. They did have Pat Symonds up there for a bit which was pretty interesting from a tech angle.

Highlight of the day was seeing Heikke Kovalainen's Caterham F1 car from Interlagos in a pretty nondescript part of the show. It was this year's car and you could get right up to it with no barriers. The Caterham guys were happy for you to touch it, look inside the cockpit, I could even take pictures of the inside of the cockpit down the nosecone!

EDIT - some pics on Flickr if anyone fancies a peek: http://www.flickr.com/photos/3522756...7628870230773/

Fascinating to see what the driving position is like, with the raised nose you're almost lying on your back with your legs in the air driving one of these things.

Really made the day for me - I've seen plenty of F1 cars and been in the pits at Spa, but to actually get that close to touch and inspect a car that was racing a month or so ago was awesome.

When I say this year's car I meant season just finished. I.E last year's... . All moves too fast for me these days.

I'd be amazed if Sky make it available in HD on Virgin.

I moved back to Sky (from Virgin) a couple of weeks ago, with F1 HD and ESPN America HD as the primary reasons.

Senna confirmed at Williams now. It will be interesting to see how he does, I have high hopes, but clearly beating Maldonaldo is an obvious must. One seat left and Alguersauri is the favourite for it at HRT, can't believe that Sutil has been left with nothing

In the interview I linked to in post 193 Jaime said he had definitely dismissed the idea of going to HRT as he sees it as a backwards step.

I'd imagine Sutil's upcoming case must be having a bearing on this. Shame, as he's clearly the pick of the remaining bunch.

The HRT drive will be a big step back for any of the drivers looking for a deal (perhaps D'Ambrosio aside seeing as Virgin were pretty dire), depends if they see it as an opportunity to smash De La Rosa or simply part of the grid that'll get them on a downer on their career.

Trulli's Caterham drive is the one to look out for I reckon, can see there being some movement on that one before the new season...
