Love Sturgill Simpson's latest album Sound & Fury

He's done what many Americana/roots artists do for their tricky 4th album: made a concept rock/funk/psychedelic album featuring songs about a post-Apocalyptic Japan and set it all to an animation that's available on Netflix!

I'm going through my Explosions In The Sky albums. The titles of which are eerily prescient

How Strange, Innocence
Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever
The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
The Rescue
All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
Take Care, Take Care, Take Care
The Wilderness

I'm looking forward to their 2021 release.

Just patiently waiting for Gigaton from Pearl Jam. I'm really enjoying the tracks released so far.

Being stuck at home for the most part, I am picking out CDs with varying types of music depending on my mood. For example

Eagles - HELL FREEZES OVER (DTS CD)
Steely Dan - GAUCHO (DTS CD)
Ladysmith Black Mambazo - IN HARMONY (Great for relieving stress)

and of course any disc of Bon Jovi.

I’m listening to a wide variety of music but I will say the one good benefit of working from home is I’m making great use of my record player now. Swapping sides and changing records is a great way to get up and keep moving away from being hunched over the laptop all day.

It’s also been so long since I looked at what I had it’s been a nice surprise to realise I had certain records on vinyl.

B52’s - Love Shack 7” Don't mind if I do

Whilst I listen to lots of roots/americana these days, back when I first got into music, I listened to a lot of AOR/melodic rock. I've been listening to a lot of this recently:-

Journey
Boston
Survivor
Heart

Night Ranger up next.

Received the Remastered version of Marillion's Script for a Jesters Tear recently.

Album still stands up pretty well, maybe 1 particular track less so.

The remastered stereo mix is head and sholders above the rather flat original.

Haven't had chance to listen to the Bluray yet or the live Marquee show.

Decent package at a reasonable price.

I keep meaning to buy it. I was at the Marquee gig the night before but might have been at this one as well. I really can't remember for certain

Lucky man! Think there are a couple of Marquee releases from around that time including this one.

Old Man is more accurate. I first saw them in April or May 82 and loads of times up until Fish left but only one time afterwards on the first Hogarth tour. I them moved north and never bothered again

You and me both having just entered my 5th decade...

Never got to see them live with Fish. First gig was on the Seasons End tour with H. Been plenty of times since, although that's tailed off in the past 5 years or so. Seen the big man a fair few times too.
