Interesting. I wonder what changes have been made, and why ? Maybe the author has responded to (fan) criticism and corrected some errors ? (Wikipedia or Google don't help). I've not read it yet, so will probably never know !

The author died in 2004 so it would be interesting to know who authorised the changes. All the books were published posthumously, which I didn't know, I thought the third was but didn't realise all were. There have been two further books written by David Lagercrantz.

Ken Follett - On Wings of Eagles - First time at 99p.

synopsys

Quote:
  • The story on these pages would have been incredibly exciting had it been fiction. But it is more than that – it is fact. It’s a story that only Ken Follet, today’s master of action and suspense, could do justice to.
  • "Superb. . . . Ken Follett's fans may be reluctant to see him return to fiction." The New York Times Book Review
  • "A remarkable adventure." Los Angeles Times
  • "Follett at his most spellbinding." Boston Herald
  • "A gripping thriller." Newsday
  • "An extraordinary story . . . gripping." Business Week
  • "Impressive suspense and excitement." Publishers Weekly
  • "A first-rate bestseller . . . stirring, provocative, as meticulously detailed and as thrilling as Follett's fictional creations." The Houston Post

Cheers, got both of those and the audible narration for Artemis as my dad enjoyed The Martian but currently can't read (he's waiting to see if a problem from a cataract op will clear up or need another surgery).

First time it's been less than £7.99 since 2016 release - now 99p -

Cal Newport - Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World

Quote:
DEEP WORK accomplishes two considerable tasks: One is putting out a wealth of concrete practices for the ambitious, without relying on gauzy clichés. The second is that Mr. Newport resists the corporate groupthink of constant connectivity without seeming like a curmudgeon. -- Wall Street Journal

In this strong self-help book, Newport declares that the habits of modern professionals-checking email at all hours, rushing from meeting to meeting, and valuing multitasking above all else-only stand in the way of truly valuable work. -- Publisher's Weekly

After a year on The Verge’s staff as a senior writer, Sarah recently joined The New York Times Editorial Board to write about technology issues. The move kicked off a wave of outrage and controversy as a group of trolls selectively took Sarah’s old tweets out of context to inaccurately claim that she is a racist.

Another Follett, bit shorter at 500 pages (!), but rarely 99p -

Ken Follett - The Third Twin

Quote:
  • 'A high-tech read about genetic engineering, with emotional depth' -- Telegraph
  • "A provocative, well-paced, and sensational biotech thriller." --Variety
  • "a master of the fast-paced plot." -- The Washington Post
  • "Follett is one of the smoothest suspense writers around, and The Third Twin will only enhance his reputation." -- Chicago Tribune

Danny Baker - Going on the Turn @ 99p TODAY ONLY - first time <£7.99 in 2 years since release !

This is vol3; the previous 2 (and the TV show) were great imo, and have been posted cheap on here before, so you may already have them (although it's hardly necessary to read them in order).
