godo ending to this weeks ep I thought. still wonder how far kings landing is from where the starks are. His wife made it quite easily across this time, they might as well put a bus route in with all this toing and froing. But seriously one question; were they talking about eating wildlings or just saying they are flesh and bone like us (i know they said that, but wasn't sure whether there was a cannibalism comment as well or did i misconstrue the dialogue).

I've not seen the episode you're talking about yet but in the book she goes by boat, that's how she got there so much quicker.

Just seen ep2 - always good to see some girl-on-girl action!
Felt sorry for the wolves though and I can't wait for bratty prince git to meet a bad end

I must admit that I never imagined King's Landing at tropical with palm trees and whatnot. Was it described that way in the book and missed all that?

Great stuff - this one's a keeper.

What was Ned Stark remembering at the end there?

I agree, I imagined Kings Landing to be a bit more green and Dorne to look a bit like how they have portrayed it here.

Arya and Jaime stole this episode. Absolutely incredible casting.

It's described as a very rich land, so yeah - pretty much.

Have to say, I loved Syrio Forel. Lack of baldness aside, he was utterly perfect.

Lots of new characters to remember. Woo hoo. Good stuff though and a nice little posthumous appearance by Doris from Gavin & Stacey too

I thought this episode was weaker than the other two (although still good), wonder how much that had to do with it being directed by a different person. (Brian Kirk)

That might well be the case - Tim Van Patten did the first two IIRC, and you are pretty much in safe hands with him given his track record on TV (Deadwood, Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire etc). Actually I remember his episode of Boardwalk Empire being better than the Scorsese one that opened the series.

The time still flew by, though. Loving the series so far.

Looks like Arya forgot she was left handed half way through the fight

I don’t know – I thought it was one of the most riveting episodes yet - although when I think about it not a lot happened during the episode. Nonetheless, the individual scenes bar none were each outstanding and every one of the characters really seems to be settling in nicely (and the new additions were perfect - esp. Maester Aemon and the Old Bear).

Particularly loved the scenes up at the Wall, the story Old Nan was telling to Bran, and the bitch whipping that Viscerys got.

Only thing that nagged at me was why the Starks didn’t even appear to consider the possibility of a set-up – why would an assassin carry a elegant, traceable knife when any old kitchen knife would do??

Good episode - distinct lack of doggy style sex compared to the first two, but them's the breaks.

Particularly enjoyed the end scene of the young girl learning to sword fight; Sean Bean displayed quite the range of inner turmoil with just a small change of expression.

Was really looking forward to Aidan Gillen's Littlefinger...and was then rewarded with him droning out his lines like he was on Valium. Really hope he improves. "Weaselly" should not equal "wooden". The best acting he did was when Ned had him around the throat. Go, Sean.
