90s Kid TV Program - Time travel, silver robot clock, post apocalyptic gameshow?

This has been bugging one of my friends for ages and I completely forgot about it until he just mentioned it to me and now it's bugging me again.

There was a kids tv show on (I think) the BBC in the mid 90s.

What I can remember of it was that it featured a kid who travelled into some post-apocalyptic future where he was on a gameshow. The other notable thing was that in the shopping centre there was a silver metallic robot clock thing that was somehow involved in the time travelling.

Does anyone have any idea wtf I'm thinking of?

Don't know what you're thinking of, but you reminded me of Metal Mickey.

This rings a bell but the one I'm thinking of was Austrailan/New Zealand and was shown on sunday mornings on Channel 5. Can't think of the name tho - sorry.

I remember this, it is australian I think.

I'm sure it had 'Odyssey' in the title.

I was thinking about this the other day when there was a similar thread on here. A kid goes to a tv shop and the guy on the TV quizshow talks to him (maybe not) then he goes to the fountain and gets transported to the "TV dimension"

It was pretty rubbish FWIW

That was The Odyssey, a different show.

I definitely remember the show the OP is talking about, but can't remember too much about it. I can't remember it being a series though, was it a one-off episode of a regular series? Sort of like The Outer Limits but for kids?

Did it involve a sequence with the main character being chased by a huge metallic ball throughout the shopping centre?

I remember it too, it was Aussy/NZ and had 2 series (shown here at least)and I think was on C4. Had a very trippy intro.
