Question What projector screen should I get?

I have ordered a Sanyo PLV-Z1 projector and I am now thinking about the screen. I have searched E-bay and the rest of the web but I thought I would get everyones views before I make a purchase.

Where is the cheapest place to buy a 16:9, 100 inch diagonal, wall mount screen? I don't want to go the DIY route but on the other hand I don't want to spend over £200.

I got mine 2nd hand from someone on the AV forums - £175 for a Da-Lite 16:9 80x45 (92" diagonal).

Might be worth checking there for suppliers but www.direkt2u.co.uk do screens reasonably cheaply.

There's a picture of my screen here: http://www.btinternet.com/~nigelwill

Depends on how much you have to spend

Cheapest model is probably the Panasonic AE100 but there are newer versions on the way. The Sanyo PLV-Z1 mentioned above is pretty good as is the new Sony HS-10

the Panny AE100 at Komplett was recently £995 (exc. P&P) - dunno if it's still that price.

Did you have any troubles with customs as Ebay USA is a possibility I hadn't considered.

Thats a big ass screen! I might be tempted by the smaller model though. Whats the quality like? Any wrinkles? Does it have any drop?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to buy one tonight.

No wrinkles at all, its a very nice screen, has around 2" black drop on all sides, very smooth roll down looks more expensive than it costs. I was gonna go for the smaller one, but they were out of stock when i ordered (01/01/03) and this one is more readily avilable so Patman said. For the money i'am well pleased. Rizel

Thanks for all the advice. I have ordered a 16:9 170 x 96cm Grandview from direct2u.co.uk.

Now comes the difficult part. Waiting for it to arrive.
