Loved it. Never enough rape, incest or child murder on TV.

Only real issue I had was how some of the characters are older while others were kept around the same age.

I thought this was excellent. Acting, casting and script was spot on. The realisation of the world was brillianty done.

My wife has not read the books and thought it was fabulous, now recommending it to her friends.

HBO and Showtime ratings operate in a materially different way than network and other cable ratings, as these networks do not rely on advertising. It DOES matter to HBO how many people viewed the episode on the rebroadcasts, TIVO, and POD… because this metric will indicate to them how valuable the program is to their subscribers.

No need to panic yet regarding the delay in HBO releasing accurate viewing figures. They did the same 24hr delay with Boardwalk Empire & announced on the Tuesday they had confirmed a 2nd season.

Fingers-crossed for the same to happen here.

Most people seem to think that a 2nd series is almost a given, since HBO invested so much in this show and they already made back so much of it with sales to foreign markets (their most lucrative show ever in that respect). Fingers crossed.

Apparently HBO are in it for the long-term and expect it to run 12 years+ which sounds promising.

Not that official since HBO appear to have asked for it to be taken down.

That's what I get believing The Tower of the Hand website.

Anyways, a second season has been confirmed by HBO.

Gross US audience for the opener was 4.2 million.

I think they are giving some leeway to him to perhaps, maybe finish the blooming books by then!

If you haven't read the books, PLEASE DON'T look at riz1's spoiler. Don't even think about it.

I thought that was a spoiler for the first episode of the tv series. Well cheesed off now, I'm going to start reading the books soon off the back of enjoying the tv show. There's always one who gets their kicks by spoiling it for everybody else isn't there.

damn, that was a rotten spoiler post, even without reading it you know what it is going to say.

Loved the 1st episode, hope the same proximity to the book is kept up.
