carryonline - Slightly off topic for the book, but not the films, but do you know of any impending Blu Ray releases in the works?

I've not heard of any plans, no. The Carry Ons are consistent sellers on DVD but they're considered budget range. I don't think the Blu Ray market is mature enough to sustain truly cheap releases like the Carry Ons would inevitably become. I'm bound to be proved wrong, but I don't reckon we'll see the Carry Ons on Blu Ray for at least two years.

Just been sent some promotional material from the publisher. We're doing this as a saucy postcard:

Hmm... if everyone thought like that we wouldn't have had the SE DVDs

They took a while to arrive though. The special editions didn't arrive until 2003.

I would *love* to be proved wrong though. I invested in a projector earlier this year and it'd be wonderful to see the gang in proper HD on the big screen

That's it. The "final" draft of the book is now off for a spot of checking and finally I get my evenings back. So much TV to catch up on from the last six months.

I've just received a sample chapter of Carry On Confidential, fully laid out in its final format. It's looking lovely. I'll be making it available online in the next couple of weeks so you can all take an advance peek at what to expect from the final book.

I'll sign copies for anyone who wants one, although I'll admit to being rather embarrassed by that sort of thing. Just stick a note on your order when you buy the book and the publisher will set your copy aside for me to scrawl my X onto

In a perfect example of comedy timing, Miwk's host went down shortly after I posted that link last night

The website's back up now so if you'd like to read the chapter on Carry On Constable, you can do so here: http://www.carryonline.com

Looks good, pity it won't be out in time for Santa to bring it to me. Never mind, I have a long flight in late fed early March so these could be the perfect travel companion!

Content looks great, an incredible amount of research (and DVD watching) must have gone into it - is that the actual layout though? I realise there may have been copyright problems but if any book needs photos, this one does.

We were originally going to have a quite photo-rich book but the high page count has put paid to that. It's going to be 400-500 pages in length, so not much room for stills

If you've got a Christmas Radio Times circle 27th Dec, 10.05pm, Channel 5. There's a new Carry On documentary and you might see someone you know in it.
