JIGOKU-RETSUDEN - NEW RECORDINGS CD:

3. SHOUT IT OUT LOUD
4. HOTTER THAN HELL
5. CALLING DR.LOVE
6. LOVE GUN

14. BLACK DIAMOND
15. ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE

Yet ANOTHER greatest hits CD . At least this one is different in the fact that they are all new recordings.

Bit much to ask that they recorded some new tracks while they were in the studio
Is this the same rerecorded greatest hits that was supposed to be given away with the Mail On Sunday this summer (don't remember it ever happening)?

Damn! I think I got the Kissology 2 with the Budokan bonus disc.

Wish I went for the BestBuy one now (Ritz NY '88)... I'll have to check tonight.

I wonder how many other Kissology bonus DVDs we will get bundled with other stuff now

It could well be! I remember reading about the CD being given away but never saw an issue of The Mail on Sunday with it in

I take it they've just rerecorded the tunes to get round a record contract so they can make even more $$$$$.

It probably screws Ace Frehley and Peter Criss out of any cash they'd have been due too.

God, they sound bloody awful IMO.

WTF is the point? I guess DaveOr may be right

They just don't sound as ballsy as they used too. Very stop/start. Kiss were never about timing. Everything just came together in a wonderful orgasmic explosion of gritty sounding greatness.

I LOVE Deuce but that new recording made my ball bag shrink

A very good point...I wouldn't be suprised if they re-recorded the entire back catalogue now!

On a brighter note though...Paul Stanley has a DVD release on October 21st...'One Live Kiss', filmed on his 'Live To Win' solo tour

DVD arrived today and watched it this afternoon.

Apart from being edited with really quick shots most of the way through...a thing that is becoming all too common thanks to the 'MTV generation' ...it is a really good DVD and Paul's voice is in great form

Kiss have revealed they might be heading back to the studio soon to work on new tracks - despite previously saying they were concentrating on touring old material.

The band, who have been going round the globe for the past year playing hits, will be heading out to play shows in Europe and America soon - but haven't ruled out settling down to work on a new album.

Speaking to Classicrockmagazine.com lead singer Paul Stanley said: "There might even be a new Kiss album at some point. I have been ambivalent to the idea in the past but I'm much more open to it now.

"I thought that I'd be content for Kiss to remain a heritage act," he added, "just playing our greatest hits – 'Detroit Rock City' and all that. But the new Kiss line-up with Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer is proving to be so good, so strong in spirit, it would interesting to see how we perform in the studio."

Stanley added that although the band haven't scheduled any studio time as yet, if they did head back into record the songs would recall Kiss' trademark glam rock sound.

"If we were to go into the studio the intention would be to make a Kiss album in the style of our '70s recordings. A classic Kiss album, unmistakably," Stanley concluded.

From an interview with Paul Stanley a couple of days ago....

Can fans look forward to new KISS material in the near future?

Actually, it looks like we’ll be going in the studio shortly to do the first new KISS album in 10 years. It’s going to be very much a vintage, classic, ‘70s KISS album without much regard to what’s happened since then; it’s back to the roots.

And when questioned about a tour...

We played to about 400,000 people, and we’ll pick up where we left off [in] the middle of next year, summer/fall, and to the States and Europe.

So a new album...at last!...and another chance to see them live next year

New album has been confirmed and will be produced by Paul Stanley. This will be followed by a world tour.

Ace Frehley's long mooted new solo album Anomaly will finally be hitting the shelves soon too
