Err... why?

Even the earlier stuff sounded better. Sure, it was (fantastically) rough and ready but the instruments could 'breathe' and it all sounded real.

EDIT: Hot and Cold is probably my favorite track at the moment. Gotta love those lyrics

They wanted to recreate the 70's feel of real instruments instead of using Pro Tools.

It sounds fine to me

Sounds fine to me too

'Modern Day Delilah' & 'All For The Glory' are my 2 faves so far...there's only really 'Stand' that I can't take to so far.

I've just heard a rumour about them playing a Classic Rock festival in Victoria Park next summer with Rush

A bit too heavy in the mid range for me and not that dynamic.

I'll have to pop the remastered intro to Creatures of the Night in to blast out the fuzziness

That would be amazing , but I doubt it very much, RUSH Don't play Festivals, they have only ever played a handful of outdoor gigs, so I can't see then starting now.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a full UK tour and not just 1 festival date again....though I'll take anything, as long as they come over here

Got to say, I'm not overly impressed with this. I don't get the whole return to the 70's sound idea, to me it sounds no-more like their 70's stuff than the last one did (although it's better than that). Perhaps all that means is that they got Tommy Thayer to play solos like Ace? Okay, it's missing the hideous mid - late 80's over production but there's nothing on the record that even comes close to their first six studio records. But then what do I know, I enjoyed Carnival of Souls- at tleast it brought something new to the mix (even if that was just pretending to be an Alice In Chains tribute).

i have had a good listen to the album now and i like it, couple of weaker tracks but its a good album and gene is much improved, some of his 90's stuff was terrible.
Having read kiss and sell book they went though some bad times in the 80's early 90's good to see them back on top. (amazing book if you have not read it, real eye opener to the mad world of rock music)

Quick update from my trip to Florida, saw KISS last night in Tampa and as expected they were awesome. New stage set works really well especially the giant video screen. Opened with Deuce then Strutter .....only played Modern Day Delilah from Sonic Boom, which replaced Cold Gin from the set they played in Europe last year. Paul sounded really good, lots of banter with the crowd, Tommy took lead on Shock Me and Eric on Black Diamond.

Off to Fort Lauderdale now for the Sunrise show tonight

Rich....

I never bother taking my Camera to gigs, so no piccies , Sorry..
But just to add they were on Top Form again last night in Sunrise, Ft Lauderdale, same set as Tampa , great crowd, loads of fans in costume and make up. That was my 11th KISS show, and apart from the show in Bradford on the Crazy Nights tour was the best Ive seen them.

Roll on the Full UK Tour next year.
