Any table I have seen this week has only had an * against 1 team - Man City; to indicate their CL place isn't guaranteed

CL Winner 19/20 should come with a massive asterisk ... complete change of format mid way through, neutral venues, BCD, TWO massive breaks during the competition

Every competition that completes in the 19/20 season will surely have the old '*' next to it...most disjointed and compromised season any of us have ever experienced! Just remains to seen whether the 20/21 season will be asterisked as well, it may be the 21/22 season before we are fully back to normality!!

I haven't been able to watch the game - was the ball really over the line? Definitely all of the ball?

Did the cameras show that zoom in of the virtual ball to show where it went and why it wasn't a goal?

It was definitely over and apparently the technology confirmed that at half time

It was clearly over and no they didn't show the computer image.

But they are now playing the 2nd half with 'working' GLT. How is that fair ?

If Sheff Utd don't win then they have every right to sue.

Thinking back to that non goal, it's such a shame Colin isn't still Sheffield United manager for this.

It's clearly unfair though. You can't play a game with technology working for the 2nd half but not the 1st.

Ok, I've watched it now - I thought maybe it was very close but fair enough to you guys you are all correct. It wasn't even close was it. I'd be fuming if it was my team - but not at the referee at all, it was 100% nothing to do with him.

There is no excuse for that goal not being given; GLT, Oliver and VAR all are culpable.

I'm not buying Hawkeye's excuse about cameras either. IIRC they assured the PL their system would still see the ball even if it was smothered by the keeper.

It's not Oliver's fault. He has to trust the technology and his team of officials. He can't see the pictures out there on the pitch.

VAR should have confirmed it was a goal, it was easy to see

And tells team to make sure you have a defender covering the post in the same way the Villa defender did

It's not the first time the system has stopped working mid-match. I remember Wolves v Villa in the Championship a couple of years ago. Jota thumped one in the back of the net and it broke the system! The ref had to indicate to both teams that his watch was no longer working.

VAR was checking every bad tackle or incident constantly a while back why does the ref have to ask?

Anyway hate Sheffield Utd so I was well pleased.

Because, according to protocols in place, VAR can only check certain things. Technically a goal wasn't scored yesterday so apparently VAR can't check it

Ludicrous. What's the point of it.
