If memory serves me, the comics do explore this a little bit. Hopefully the show will too in later seasons, then we’ll get some Love Sausage.

Given who's made it, it's noticeable similar to Preacher in tone and feel.

Really enjoyed this, it did start to feel a little rushed towards the end with such a short episode run but I can’t wait for more.

Just don’t head down the Hero’s road eh? 😉

on ep4 now and really enjoying it but Karl urban's accent is distracting as it goes from how yanks thinks people from London talk to more Australian

Again similar to Preacher, Cassidy's accent was awful when I first heard it in clips but soon got used to it and the character was done well. The most faithful of the three.

Cracking bit of TV far superior to Legion

I agree his New Zealand accent was quite strong maybe that's what they think us non Downtown Abbey brits sound like. When I visited the USA I was mistaken for being Swedish, Australian and Scottish - that's the Geordie accent for ya.

Yanks think english people sound like posh ***** or london cockney gangster, no inbetween. Also the english accent is also OTT in american films and shows.

I got mistaken for Australian in the US in New york and las vegas when I just have a normal english accent

I bet NZ and Aussie get annoyed by other people that can't tell their accents apart

It's not so much that his accent is a parody East end accent it is more that he drifts back to NZ frequently.

It is a bit cockney geezer, but I find it adds to the character's humour if anything.

The accent works fine for me. Everything about the character is exaggerated and comical.

I really enjoyed season 1. I wouldn't of known Homelander was the sheriff from Banshee, he looks quite different. Karl urban's changing accent is not a huge problem but lots of people notice it but he is fun character as he quite OTT, no doubt due him coping with what happened in his past

Just reading the differences between the comics and this on wikipedia

Quote:
The Deep
A long-time member of the Seven, he is marketed by Vought-American as the "King of the Seas" and claims he cannot remove his helmet due to an Atlantean curse. The Deep is actually a man in a diving suit.

I can see why they changed this and made him more aqua man

Love this - even Karl Urban's crazy accent. It's very well written, darkly funny and good performances.

Favourite scenes so far:

Binged this over two days and I loved it. Makes a refreshing change from all the kid-friendly Marvel superheroes. (which I also love)

I wonder if there going to work in the major comic plotline with one of the 7 as it's all I can think about every time he is on screen.

Comic book spoiler below.

I'm sure I read somewhere that season 2 is going to be the black noire storyline.
