Really enjoyed the sarah connor chronicles (while some didn't) it didn't get some troll campaign against it. It had 2 main characters that were female

When companies start talking down to the audience, its when the fans don't watch it and these websites start going on about trolls. Recent example is the new terminator film, the director called everyone a woman hater (can't be bothered to find his exact gibberish) nothing to do with how bad the 1st trailer was (second trailer only looks a bit better but the film has other problems)

Ruby Rose has decided to leave after one season. The producers say they'll recast with another LGBTQ actor for season 2

Only watched the first couple of episodes which didn't really grab me. Did it get any better?

I am loving it. Ruby rose isn’t the best but the step sister and villain rock.
I also like the representation shown, we neee more lead gay characters where it’s not a thing. They just date people and get in with life.
Hopefully it continues

IIRC it got massively review bombed when it was revealed that she was gay so I wouldn't put any faith in those figures. I personally didn't watch it as I'm tired of the DC universe TV shows. Haven't even kept up with Legends this season.

I'd recommend revisiting Legends. It's generally huge fun &, unlike the rest of the DCTV shows, very aware of how silly it is.

I like Batwoman so far and I'm still watching Supergirl and Legends of the DC shows. Legends is hilarious and, as aprout says, doesn't take itself seriously.

Its trending all over at the moment, variety reported it but a quick Google.

To be fair Rose leaving for me is not a good thing, poor writing and an increased run from 13 to full season at the last minute hampered this show. Approaching it like a female batman or she punches and beats guys twice her weight without any suit augmentation was Charlie's angels level of realistic. Going the more intimidating route using fear and a few gadgets and more tactical approach would have suited her better.

But the message these writers drove home from the trailer onwards was not her fault. If anyone should be fired it's the writers. And stop this soap drama with superhero elements once and for all

To expect a relative newcomer to hold a TV show on her own as the star, like Stephen did in arrow was pushing it Arrow had a better writer and less drama in the first season.

Her injury could not have helped.

That's what's important?

Not that the actor is any good for the role but they fit a certain criteria to tick a box.

I think the feeling is that the comics character is gay, so if they don't hire a gay actor for the role it'll be total anarchy, riots on the streets, etc from the 'fan community' (& people who just like to complain about stuff).

As long as the actor is the right fit, I don't really care either way, but that seems to be the way the world works these days...

sadly thats all matters to some, I do understand about having gay actress for the role but then you have angry community thought RR "was not lesbian enough" for the role as she called her gender fluid. You can never appease of some of the extreme side of fandom

It got review bombed because it's really, really, really, really bad, just like pretty much all the other DC Universe shows that get squirted out, not because the lead character was gay. That's probably the most interesting thing about it.

Oh and Ruby Rose makes Keanu Reeves look like Tom Hardy. She's no great loss to the show.

She can't be blamed for saying the crappy dialogue the writers produced. Feels like she is being used as a scapegoat. Did not get the feeling that she wanted the character to be Lesbian first and then Batwoman but that the way the writers wrote it because you know its important

She can be blamed for reading out lines with absolutely no emotion whatsoever. She can't act! I've seen her in a bunch of stuiff now and it's the same flat stilted delivery that like I say, makes Keanu Reeves look hammy. Like Keanu she looks amazing though, so John Wick basically had the right idea by making her mute so she can do the only thing she does well: Stand there and look cool.

*shug* Eh, I enjoyed it. Nowhere as good as Legends... or Black Lightning, but entertaining enough.

(disclaimer: I watched all seasons of Iron Fist)
