It appears to me that the writers and producers of this show have too little core storyline material to string out to a multi-episode serial. As a consequence, regardless of the rights and wrongs of the plot, it's slow moving, and tedious in the extreme. It seems that the "discipline" of having to get everything done in 42 minutes (as with episodic series) is actually a good thing.

Conversely, I thought there was at least a couple of episode’s worth in the last one!

I’m enjoying it - maybe because I’m not a huge Trekkie/Trekker or whatever. I rewatched the Locutus episodes the other day, and didn’t think they lived up to their reputation.

So far I've thought it was poor, slow, but watchable.

Episode six was an uptick for me. The main plot ticked along at a decent pace and Picard acted like Picard (except for applauding Rafi for doing her job).

I thought it was better this week. But we could really do without the Ninja. Blondie seems to have hooked-up pretty quickly with the Beard.

Obviously the so-called writers of this show think its all perfectly reasonable.

Hmmm - even when an episode is a marked improvement on the previous one but is still a bit crap, it's not a good sign.

I am sort of pining for the return of Discovery and The Orville at this point.

This weeks episode of Talking@TheMovies is up with a review/discussion of EP 6. Link in the signature. The Picard discussion starts at the hour mark.

The pacing of this show is making it utterly unwatchable now. The before the titles part this week was about 3 episodes worth of story crammed into 10 minutes.

Also does everyone retire to the countryside after serving in Starfleet?

Picard is in mortal danger so he takes that danger to 2 of the best friends he has (who also have a child)? The writing in this programme is too stupid for words.

Well I'll say this for the writers they are consistant.

Picard chewed out again this week which is no surprise.
Swearing of course
And more additions to the body count

The reunion was pure "memberberries" they travel to essentially a dead end when they are supposed to be on the run. A planet with no ship and had to wait for the "help" to arrive.

Poor Australian Elf must think he is in Lord or the rings trying to take on enemies that are armed with what appears to be phasers what ever happened to romulan disruptors? with only a sword. This invincible warrior nun cast away that we spent a whole episode getting was/is pointless there was no reason for him to stay behind in the first place.

Blonde still uselss instead of telling the truth she allowed Juan Solo to go of half-cocked.

Romulan sister seemed a little more menacing now she is not trying to get Giggity Giggity her brother but still no better than Mirror Georgiou.

The ship has the most uselss EMH just stood there; next thing she on the table, its a small ship why does no one know whats going on. We've already had

Too much stuff going on between scenes that were are not seeing makes you think alot has been cut out and stuck together.

Why did the Riker family not go back to the Briar Patch?

Picard acted like a dick with robo girl for no reason and got a slap for it

Poor Hugh

I thought the latest episode was pretty good - certainly compared to some of the previous ones

Well this is not getting written any better. Yes there is stuff happening on screen but the pacing is crap. A scene is just getting started then it shifts to Soji or whoever and it crawls to a halt.

Rafi making an extraordinary detective powers worthy of Holmes discoveres the whole plot - further evidence of stuff being cut out

Blonde girl says she can't talk about things due to a physic block but then proceeds to talk about it.

A system with eight suns, yeah that is a planet I'd like to live on

AK has recycled
after all I hope RDM sues the **** out of him

More swearing
Picard is shouted at again
Bodycount into double figures this episode
Romulan ships look meh
Beautiful Flower ffs
Juan Solo needs to have has head looked at; why all the holograms look like him and not one a pretty girl.
The Sottish accent was laughable

It feels like Picard's screentime is less and less each episode, the other characters I don't care less about.
Soji actress is just not very good I would have cast Gemma Chan or Emily Berrington.

True but by that point I didn't care, the writers thought it was a good idea but it was totally pointless, Borg have lived in a vacuum before. Plus if 7 had control why did she not lock out the Romulans. Instead we get the XBs taking out the male guards easily but then use the Borg try laying on of hands on Pervy sister Romulan.

This has to be another universe where men are Eunuchs
Still no male admirals in this show except picard. The federation and Starfleet have gone to hell so what is AK trying to say about women in charge perhaps a dig at current Viacom CBS owners?

Did last nights (13/03) episode have more swearing than the whole of the Star Trek universe?

There are many threads in the story - just hope it's (mostly) wrapped up in series 1 and not stretched out

I wish it had been only 20 minutes. Were it not about Picard, in whom I've invested many hours of my life, I'd have given up on this tripe a long time ago.
