Have you never met a chick with daddy issues? Have you never met a women and ended up in bed the same night? CW would turn that into 10 episodes, far better to skip over all that as it has no impact on the wider story.

You're not being nitpicky - you've just missed the point entirely.

Have not seen the 2nd ep as waiting for all rest of the episodes

but wanted to say about Fan fiction tends to be quite bad, its rare for it to be good. it tends to be over zealous fans writing stories cringing stories (star trek ghosts anyone?) or kirk teaming up with dr who or some other ****

Making some bad writer official writing staff does not mean its not fan fiction writing. Taking STD as an example, its like having the ship having 2000 shuttle fighter ships coming out the main ship "because it sounds cool". or just making generic terms like "kLiNgOn TiMe CrYsTaLs!!!!!!!!" with marvel like armour suit.

I once read a fan fic story where Beverly Crusher has sex with a ghost and has an orgasm. No wait that was an actual episode of season 7.

I once played a Zork like adventure game called something like "X Trek: Boffing Both Generations" where you went round the enterprise D shagging all the women on it, then did something to the transporter and did the same with TOS

Oh yes I know, I think it turned into such a huge thing where it would get mentioned in other non Star Trek threads so much the mods actually asked that we stop mentioning.

Talking@theMovies EP 180: Star Trek Picard Episode 2 review

I run a weekly Movie & TV podcast where we discuss what we have been watching, the weeks trailers and TV and Movie news with a bit of friendly banter thrown in.

Each week we are doing a Star Trek Picard review/discussion.

We are available on most platforms Twitter | iTunes | Libsyn |Stitcher

Any feedback you have would be most welcome good or bad. Thanks for listening.

I'm beginning to think it was a mistake not dropping this all at once. Every episode feels so short & just as it gets going, it ends. The lengthy recaps at the beginning & the 'coming next' tags at the end don't help either.

Like some have mentioned, I might save the rest up & binge them all when it's done.

I keep thinking I should save them, but then I see the next one is just sitting there taunting me.

And with the internet how are you going to avoid spoilers?

Still this is not improving 90 mins in and a movie would be getting ready to wrap it up at this point and we are only just going into space.

Those two Romulans on the borg cube who have some sort of mission with the Dahj 2.0 act a bit weird with each other yet they are supposed to be brother and sister

Still missing the LCARS interfaces the holo stuff to pilot the ship is just meh reminds me of that awful B5 Rangers spin-off in order to fire weapons they had to jump about and kick in the air.

Smoking

I'm actually really enjoying it - I've said for many years that the Borg would be at their most effective if they were allowed to go full-on Cronenbergian body-horror, so hoping for plenty more Borg action!
Be cool to see some other familiar races pop up, but suspect that'll be a non-starter for budget reasons.

As an aside, I just finished modelling this little trinket; should have the first hardcopy off my resin printer in an hour or two

Turns out Jean-Luc is a bit of a prick. But not in any ways interesting enough for me to keep watching.

I’m loving it, i like The fact Picard is having to pay for mistakes he made with people in his past for a change. Also the pace is a welcome break from most sci fi ‘shoot everything’ rubbish nowadays.

You just hope it’s a good story, that’s my only real concern.
