The crazy thing is ... there was absolute zero need to mention Knives Out, in this thread, at all net alone in such potentially un-spoilered detail.

That's the problem with needlessly dicking about with spoiler tags, it complicates the discussion. All that Allan put in that tiny little spoiler tagged sentence was that "Ana whatsername is part of the main cast, but she's hardly in the trailer". My response was pointing out that she's probably not in the trailer much because she's not very famous.

If you watch the trailer for Knives Out there are three performers who barely feature: Ana de Armas, Katherine Langford, and Jaeden Martell. It's no co-incidence that these three happen to be the only members of the principal cast who aren't really that famous. There was absolutely no discussion at all about the actual murder-mystery plot of the film.

Billie Eilish (who?) to perform the title track.

Never heard of her either but anyone would be an improvement over Sam Smith.

Absolute genius as she is so young you won't be able to criticize her if the song is **** like World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, QOS, Spectre, [insert your own choice]

She's by far the best thing in pop music right now. A low bar I know but she's a million times more interesting than Sam Smith.

It's like an old people's home in here.

I never listen to pop music or have any interest in it but even I know that Billie Eilish is utterly huge.

Personally, I think that all Bond theme songs should be done by Adam and Joe. I honestly can't remember how the actual QoS song goes but I can clearly remember both Adam and Joe's song wars versions.

I gave her a listen on the train this morning and her most listened to song on Spotify is awful, but then I'm 39 and not her target audience. Sadly this tells me that I'm probably not the target audience for the new Bond film either!

She has a weak voice, that's helped massively during post production if that video is anything to go by.

How grown up a reply. I'm allowed an opinion you know, I don't have to agree with yours.

Also, isn't the term "ok boomer" directed at baby boomers? ie. someone my age can't be called a boomer.

I didn't know it was a joke when you originally wrote it. It's problem of the interwebs and text, you can't tell if someone is being horrible or making a joke.

Had a listen to some of her stuff. Didn't like it, remember when an artist started out the song was the focus in BE case the visuals in the videos seem more striking than the song being sung in a few of them I struggled to hear what she was saying.

Even that piano drowned out some of her voice

Or that's just her preferred or natural style of singing (breathy) and if she wanted to she probably could belt one out. Can't say I'm a huge fan of hers (or knew who she was before last week when I stumbled across her name in an article unrelated to Bond), but she can obviously hold a note and her kinda quiet, breathy style is clearly controlled, so I see no evidence either way in that video as to what limitations she actually has as a singer. I just know she can sing breathy.
