Tom Pelphrey, probably best known for playing Ward Meachum in Iron Fist.

Quick question - I've not started watching this yet, but didn't want to be left hanging after the end of S3 - I'm happy to wait, and have a terrible memory for plot!

So is the ending of S3 the kind of cliffhanger that would compel you to immediately start on the next season (like Killing Eve, say) or more like Better Call Saul?

It's not a pure cliffhanger, more I'd say it more turns the page to a new chapter.

We've only recently started to watch this and halfway through season 1 so not read any of the above. However today it appears that season 1 has gone AWOL on Netflix!!!

Guess I'll have to look for it elsewhere

Weird, both my Sky and PC were showing only season 2 & 3 even after logging back out and in again. I've just checked now and season 1 is there.

Yep, I'm halfway through watching series 1, yesterday it disappeared on my Blu-Ray player and phone, though was still available on PC, came back after a few hours so just seems like a glitch.

I just whizzed through all 3 seasons in 2 weeks ... great !

I'd say that S1 was the best, as it moved at such break-neck speed I often wished it would slow down. (Each episode could easily have been 30 minutes longer, and better for it.) It's such an exhilarating roller coaster with so much going on, tense and nicely unpredictable, played straight without laughs, with such interesting characters. 9/10

S2 is the weakest - slower, but it didn't get things quite right somehow. Either we didn't know the characters well enough for any emotional involvement, or the dialogue was lacking. There was also more time to spot a few plot holes. 7/10

S3 gets the balance right - slower, better dialogue, excellent acting, buckets of tension, even a few well-placed laughs, a few nice twists, and much more connection with the characters (you wanna give Ruth a hug every episode!) And the best pregnant cop since Fargo.
Main problem though is the one common to all shows - the coincidences and lucky scrapes become a bit too much after a while. And the plot holes are getting larger and more obvious. 8/10

When it gets things right, this show is right up there with the very best, and it juggles various locations & simultaneous timelines and plot very well. Excellent female characters, and (as someone said) the kids are really good too - acting, decent dialogue, relevant/interesting/believable things to do (very unusual). Well worth 30 hours of your time. 8/10

Spoilers discussion of a couple of annoyances ...

Lots of reports about Ozark being "cancelled", but it's been granted an extended fourth season of fourteen episodes to wrap everything up. Probably for the best tbh, this isn't the kind of show I'd like to see run past five seasons and just run out of steam.

One more season will suit me fine. I've no problems with any show ending if they get a season to wrap things up but there's nothing worse than investing time in a show only for it to end on a cliffhanger.
