It's going to depend on whether they do stuff together once filming has ended. If Matt jets back to the US and they don't go out like actual friends (no pun intended) then it's always going to feel wooden.

He doesn't even hang around for Extra Gear so I doubt it.

They definitely seem to have found their groove. Another good episode tonight.

The Return of the Stig's many Cousins was brilliant...

Both the Pacman Maze Challenge (Just a shame they could not use the classic sound effects) and the End Race were well put together.

Yeah that was a solid episode, didn't even fast-forward the celebrity bit this week. That Bugatti

It was a bit too bland for me again last night after a promising two weeks. Chris Harris couldn't even make a 1500bhp car feel exciting, Rory 'Reid-ing off a script' presenting in the Twingo segment, the Pacman bit was pointless and the guest bit was uninteresting. Speaking of which, I always find the hugging of the guests a bit uncomfortable.

The race bit was alright apart from the awkward finish where Matt and Chris were trying to initiate some 'banter' between each other.

That looked genuine to me (the non studio stuff anyway). The whole beer bit had me . Do feel sorry for Rory though as he doesn't seem to be on an equal footing presenter wise like the others. Although I do appreciate him reviewing cars us mere mortals can own.

it's definitely improving. the banter (and the loser's disappointment) at the end of the race seemed genuine to me. seems those two could be starting to gel but as pointed out above, RR was yet again relegated to distinct #3 duties instead of getting equal billing.

as for the celebrity bit, they should be thanked before the next VT is introduced, then kicked out off camera - saying goodbye is so awkward. Tempah was funny though, with the double entendres / innuendo which seemed like adlibs rather than scripted puns. chris harris looked uncomfortable/tense on the sofa, like he didn't know how to relax - compared MLB's body language he just looked so odd.

i am liking it more as the series progresses. more than i liked TGT. it's getting there.

I think it continues to get better and they've almost got the balance right now. Its a family-friendly (which TGT ain't) car-based entertainment show which is pretty damn entertaining. I don't dislike Rory as much as others seem to, but I think MLB and Monkey Harris are improving week on week, relaxing into things and starting to flourish. Well done the Beeb.

It seems to be a good car show now. Though I can't get excited about it.

The couch on Sunday just felt uncomfortable with Reid off to one side.

I have to say, I've been thinking of a new car, and watching lots of Carwow vids with Mat Watson and he'd make a good presenter, IMO

New new Top Gear

I've given the last couple of episodes a go,. it's OK but nothing more. feels a bit like giving the Gadget Show presenters a crack at a car show to me.

LeBlanc is good enough, but Harris and whatsit I'm less keen on. Just a bit generic at presenting.

The guest section seemed to take ages.

Wish they'd have changed the formula a bit more, too risky I guess.

Enjoyed the hill bit a lot - looked quite dangerous at times (coming downhill especially).

Yeah some of those big rocks that were falling would give someone a bit more than a headache if they went through the gaps at the front of those cars

The hill bit was great. Rest of it doesn't quite hit the mark for me as before, but is watchable enough.

Another great episode for me. Matt LeBlanc in the Ford was great and the race between Chris and Sabine was really entertaining. Even liked Eddie Jordan with him and Matt insulting each other

Like how on this that they are actually decent drivers and take it seriously. With Clarkson they'd be plum last in the race and trying to show horn in comedy moments. Poor Rory left at home again though.

I'm getting the feeling Rory might not make the cut for the next series.

The off-road segments this week were probably the best sequences yet for not just "new" Top Gear but also the Grand Tour. It all looked genuine & proper tough & even the arrival of Mr Jordan didn't hamper it too much.

The Ford GT sequence made me chuckle during the coastal-road scenes as it looked more like an advert for Forza Horizon 2...

I've just caught up with both eps having been away, and I really enjoyed both.

The Chiron and GT sections are what I'm tuning in for, and neither disappointed.. 'Seca is also a favourite from racing games, so it was great to see that represented well - Especially the corkscrew.

They really feel like they're finding their groove now, and it's great to have a car show back on that I sit down and watch properly.

How many eps are we getting?
