Forest charge £24, it was just random figures. No they have limited capacity, so they maximise the revenue. Even if there isn't limited capacity, there is still a sweet spot that maximises revenue that may well be below maximum capacity.

It is another argument, how much lower league football costs. If L2 Bristol are charging £22, I know non league teams can charge £16, there has to be some premium to pay to watch a Premier League team.

I'd guess West Ham might have the opposite problem, a large stadium that they want to fill week in and week out, most teams can fill their grounds for a big match, but you need the season tickets to fill it for the rest.

But any club would be mad to reduce prices when they're filled to capacity every week, especially with FFP and stuff.

Yep. I went to Düsseldorf a couple times (I think they have been relegated now) a few years ago. There is a huge English/Irish contingent who rock up every week.

You have to be clever and quick to make it cheaper than a premier league game. And it's always compared to going to see Arsenal (in terms of costs). I enjoyed the two times I went and it was a great experience but it was a lot of hassle with travel and staying in crappy digs etc. The guys I went with went to every home game and they had it down pat.

All season tickets have been reduced.
And they make it sound like they are caring about the fans and passing on the new TV money but in actuality ... they are getting a massive increase in capacity for very little of their own money ( most of it is funded by the tax payer ) and are **** scared that, given they can't even fill their current ground every week in its last season there is no way they are going to flog another 20k STs unless it is at a massively reduced price

Pretty much sums it up, if you're spending a fortune on increased capacity or a new stadium you need to make it pay. west ham got lucky, they didn't have to pay for anything and presumably get to sell off the current stadium as well, so win win

So far this team has way more guile than the A-team.

What a surprise that goal was.

Almost as surprising, not, as Owen's constant contradictory slating of Benteke; one minute 'why isn't he in the box?' the next 'why isn't closer to the half way line?'

that was essentially an open goal, just lift it over the keeper.

Feed him what? He should have had a hat-trick in the first half of extra time

Third time's the charm.

Set piece you say? Who'd have thought it.

Lucas had the game of his life and then one stupid foul undone it.

Wasn't a free kick, but it was well won.....
If you don't take your chances you won't win.

Most of the fouls awarded to West Ham weren't freekicks so that was hardly a shock. One mistake from Lucas all night as well.

Why lose in 90 mins, when you can be treated to a 120 mins highlight reel of Benteke misses.
