Ghost Of Tsushima (PS4)

Surprised there wasnt a thread for this already. It's my most anticipated game in a long time. I'm much more hyped for this than I was Last Of Us 2.

Looks a bit like a Samurai version of Assassin's Creed going by the engine style.

Really enjoyed Infamous so this has been on my radar for a long time, looks like a good balance of action & stealth, with options to stick mostly to the latter if you choose.

preload started last week.

A few hours into this, it is very good!

A little slow to really get going but once you are able to start unlocking abilities combat is great fun, shame that is all often let down by basic and bad enemy AI. Stealth works to point but mixing it all up to take down groups and areas is

So atmospheric, visually stunning and top notch production all round

Agree with all of this. Itís pretty derivative, but so utterly absorbing. Probably my favourite game of the year so far...

The AI is really the only thing I can find fault with.

the first time I was being chased by a group from an area and they just stopped at a certain point and ran back to where they were without losing line of sight I was kind of wtf just happened....

seems such a strange thing to overlook! if you hide in grass they will search and swipe with their weapons, which is great, but if you run far enough away from their base making no attempt to hide they run back

Really enjoying this. Its like a mix of the best bits from the old and new Assassins Creed games but better. Combat is extremely satisfying.

The Tales are so good, as an openworld game there isn't much original in terms of how it is all structured & like most it does start to feel a bit grindy after a while but there is real depth to the story & characters.

Visuals & the colours are stunning, sometimes it's hard to get much done just having to stop and take it all in!

Chaining attacks together with unlocks is brilliant & very cinematic

The camera is the worst thing about it. It doesnít always seem to clip around the environment, so youíre sometimes hammering buttons in combat while Jin is unseen because heís behind something.

Fair point, there are times you have to just run out of an area in combat but it's only been a small issue for me.

completed the first area of the map and about half way through the second, I'm amazed this was <40gb, and at the lightning fast load times!

Still really enjoying it even if the enemy archers sometimes really **** me off

Competed it and unlocked the Platinum. Itís so good to play a sandbox game that isnít overstuffed with tedious nonsense. Donít get me wrong, thereís plenty of things to do in this game, but it all fits together so well and none of it outstays its welcome.

Has a few issues but still one of the best open world games I've played in a very long time, the characters, main story and tales were so well done

So many times I just stopped and took in the view, some real emotion too, Yuriko's tale and my poor horse

Finally finished the story, one of my favourite open world games

Third chapter environment didn't work so well, enemy AI disengaging and automatically running back to base was a bit silly, apart from that the rest was amazing from start to finish. Combat is just so good!

Keeping the story and characters engaging for that length of time was something I've rarely see before.

Now mopping up what's left, shame there is no game+ but there is Kurosawa mode and another difficulty just added, tempted to just do it all again
