You might not have it yet. It's been held back for some devices due to issues - I only had it pushed to me on the 13th June. It's version 1909 btw.

Version 2004 is the current version.. 2020/04.. aka. 'April'.. but delayed to June.

They are changing the naming scheme (again), for the better though. Next update will be 20H2. 2020, 'half 2'. 2004 = 20H1

Otherwise they would have a 'Windows 10 2010' situation for the next update

Apparently it's to differentiate so people don't get confused and thnik it was Server 2003, as previous releases have been 6 monthly, 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809 and 1903/1909.

No idea why I only just got 1909. I thought it was the latest due to that, and the MS page detailing the 1909 changes being dated 29th May 2020:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...0-version-1909

But if I'd read it properly I'd have seen that that's the November 2019 update.

Just seems so random to me in when you actually get these updates, I haven't had a sniff of this 2020 yet a few months later because I guess I wasn't in the early batch and they've pulled it for a few months to refine, so maybe that happened to you? IIRC there were similar issues reported last year when 1909 landed.

This is what I'm running. Just letting MS do their thing.

Yeah that's the same as my main laptop. Oddly I can't see anything in the compatibility notes that applies to this laptop, so I don't actually know why it's blocked. Originally I thought it was the NVidia graphics but the driver is newer than they version they mention.

Of my other computers, one showed the 2004 update the other day and the update went fine - it had never shown the incompatible message, but had never showed the update available either. On my old HP Microserver it did show the incompatible message, that disappeared the other day, but the install failed very early in the process and the log files said something to the effect of that the update shouldn't have been offered to that configuration.

Mine is the same, though Windows 10 Pro, nothing in the compatibility notes indicates there should be anything wrong. I've forced the 2004 update now and nothing seems to be wrong so far. Sleep is working again, so that's a bonus.

I've just updated my NVIDIA and HD630 drivers, but still no signs of this update for me. 900 => 959

Although I'm not sure why Glary is showing 1MB of graphics RAM!

hmm ... I just spotted this (new?) toggle in the NVIDIA settings...
So I swapped from 'Game' to 'Studio', and now it's showing me 451.67 => 451.77 ... I wonder if that could be it ?

Studio drivers don't offer performance improvements. They are just have a slower release schedule for people who need to do work, Adobe creative suite and CAD etc. The game update channel puts out releases more often because they include optimisations for specific game releases.

Been building/managing computers and software professionally for 15 years, don't have the slightest clue what 'Glary' is...... as with most crapware, I'd hazard a guess it's simply out of date and doesn't have any clue what your proper GPU memory should be.

Glary Utilities (https://www.glarysoft.com/) has been around a while, and given away frequently on the usual 'giveaway of the day' type sites.

I've even tried the Windows Upgrade Assistant on two machines, dug through masses of log files and it identified the inbuilt XPS and PDF printer drivers as "hard blocks" but despite removing them (had to do so via PowerShell otherwise they were left on disk and still blocked) it still won't install, and I can't see what it's objecting to now other than a generic "device block" message.

It's a real mess. Microsoft used to be much better at compatibility than this. All the more annoying in that it doesn't just report a human-readable list of what is causing the upgrade to be blocked. It would put me off buying a new machine too, frankly I don't want the worry of it suddenly being stranded on an unsupported build.
