Whole season has been superb because of them leaving out all the family boring rubbish nobody cared about so why they filled a finale with all of that I'll never know. I'd almost say Ep 9 should have been the finale and 10-12 should have been the first few episodes of S5. Very disappointed

Dull dull dull.. and so obvious now Carrie has had her epiphany that Quinn will end up dead.

What a shame that the best season since the first has been spoiled with the most boring, dullest season finale EVER in the history of tv-shows!

It didn't even do a good job of setting up a worthy premise for the next season... YAWN!

I get the impression that they felt the need to mark Rebhorn's passing in some way, so went low key.

End result, dull episode and dull finale. Either Quinn will cark it off screen before the next season or the whole season will be her going off to find him in the middle of Syria.

Wow, I predicted it would be a rubbish finale after the pace of the episodes prior but that really was much worse than I anticipated! It's just 50 minutes of pointless filler, dull conversations and Carrie driving around in her car. I think reintroducing Dana & her boyfriend escapades again it may have actually livened it up a bit!

I saw the finale more as the bookend to episode one - same director, similar familial scenes. It saw Carrie back home but now a little less unhinged with her daughter and less wrapped up in wanting to get as far away as possible. Yes it was dull but if there wasn't to be a S5 then it served its purpose in tying things up and rounding out the season.

I guess S5 could focus on the Dal/Saul dichotomy, Quinn back on the job despite his protestations and Carrie's sudden extended family but as it stands I thought it wrapped up a fantastic season of Homeland and if it ended there I'd be happy.

Just caught the finale. I agree with others, that was the worst season finale I can remember in a long time. As ever the season started slowly and had me at times wondering if it was worth continuing with, then it picked up the pace and got interesting. The end of the prior episode had me all ready for something big which just turned out to be Carrie on a road trip!

My guess is they wrote that season with the option of changing that finale depending on if there was going to be another one. That finale could have easily wrapped up everything in the series. Yet because it's been renewed they just used it to set up S5, only it was such a boring predictable way to set it up that it will almost definitely hurt their audience at the start of next season.

I actually watched S3 and S4 back to back.

Brody was never going to end well but in a way he ended on his own terms.

S4 was brilliant. I even liked the last episode that everyone here seems to have hated. At the start of the season Carrie was ruthless, emotionally distant and utterly focussed. By the end of the season with all the loss she had suffered both professionally and personally she had actually become a lot more human, her character actually seemed to have grown up too. Despite everything that had happened she hadn't fallen apart, she did her job and she seemed to grow in confidence and understood herself much more clearly.

I am actually looking forward to S5.

I'm still enjoying the show this season.

You've got to love Quinns last line in episode 3.

Whereas I switched off in Ep3 because I'm growing tired of the super powers thing.

Yeah, I was getting dubious the last episode, but Ep4 did a lot of good work.
