Yeah it happens here occasionally. If you remove the album and re-add it they come back. not the most eloquent of solutions, but they are still ironing the bugs out I guess. Already works better than the Mac Spotify client though, and they've had years to sort that mess of a program out.

If you fancy following The Music Fix, we've now got a profile on Rdio and Spotify:

https://open.spotify.com/user/themusicfix
http://www.rdio.com/people/themusicfix/

We'll be (re)kicking off with a playlist selected by The Mavericks, and adding a mix of artist and writer curated playlists.

Apple Music is now available (in beta I think) for Android users, and they should be able to get the three month free trial.

Apple Music – Android Apps on Google Play

It'll be interesting to hear what people think of it.

Despite now having an iPhone, I think I'll wait until it's on Sonos before taking up the trial.

Am loving Joshua Homme's Alligator Hour on Apple Music, very eclectic and varied playlists plus some themed ones for Halloween recently.

Still subscribing here and use it every day. Not much between them IMO, though I prefer using iTunes to Spotify's Mac app which is hopeless. You can't go wrong with either.

Cheers. Theres no way to see in advance what is available on there is there? Unless I assume everything in iTunes is available.

It looks to work out cheaper than Spotify for a family of four so nothing to lose by signing up for three months I gurs.

Not everything in iTunes is available. I thought it would be but I actually think it's selection was worse than Spotify so I never went beyond the trial with apple and therefore still with Spotify which is great for me. Plus I didn't like the way Apple mixed my music with that is Apple Music.

Imusic doesn't still mess up your iTunes library does it?I know there were some issues early on. Hope not as I'd like to use it with sonos.

Apple Music destroyed my iTunes Match. Took me ages to rebuild it.

Cheers. I didn't renew iTunes Match this year as my library was too large. Not sure whether to still risk it. Will investigate further.

I see Rdio is done. Being bought by Pandora. I really liked their design and their idea of Collections was miles ahead of Spotify initially.

That is a shame if it goes. I really liked the Rdio apps and web UI as well, very clean and easy to use.

I've used Pandora and I actually thought it was really good. It's unique in that you can create a 'radio' station based on a list of artists, which no one else seems to have done. It's either a genre, mood or artist station with all of them, but with Pandora I could add completely different types of artists to a station and it would play similar from each, so make it really varied but still personal to me.

I only stopped using it as the quality was only 192, plus Unlocator isn't 100% reliable with Sonos so it didn't always work.

If they can integrate Rdio and the Pandora side for the radio it could be cracking.

Or it may just be the first of the big players disappearing in the wake of Apple joining the party.

With spotify you can base a radio station around an artist that you like. Then when you like songs it will tailor future music to your likes.

I know, you can with all of them (Google Music, Rdio, Apple Music, Deezer), but it's all based around that [one] artist.

With Pandora you can create a station with multiple artists. So, for example, a station made up of Jack White, Melody Gardot, Jose Gonzalez, Ian Brown, Maceo Parker, Digable Planets and Aphez Twin will create a much more eclectic station based on all of those artists and similar than one based on Jack White or Melody or Ian Brown or Jose, etc, which will only have music based on the one artist the station is anchored to.

As far as I am aware, only Pandora lets you do that. I can't remember what the limit is on artists but it can make for some pretty cool and eclectic personalised stations.

Ok, so around a week into my Apple Music trial, but I'm not sure I'm that keen. There doesn't seem to be a way of actually building a collection in Apple Music itself, other than 'heart'ing stuff or following bands, and I'm finding the way it has my own music from my devices in the same app but kept separate all a bit messy, plus it displays artist and not album artist, so even one compilation adds 20 or 30 artists I don't want to see.

There are a lot fewer genre and mood playlists than I expected too, way less than Google music, and playlists do seem very short.

I have the three months to use it so I'll see how well it works when they've finished the Sonos integration, but last fm scrobbling is important to me and whilst I can scrobble from it in Sonos (except beats 1, which is gash anyway), the only way to scrobble from my iPhone with quietscrob is to make tracks available for offline first.

Think I'll be back to spotify or Google music soon.

You build a collection by clicking on the + icon which then adds it to your 'My Music' section. It's simpler than Spotify so not sure how you've missed that!

Ah ok. I did look but couldn't see it. It only shows it on albums I don't already have on my devices, so I guess it must match them and kind of merges them together, I had been trying to build up a collection in the music app
