[QUOTE=Bish;10133522]I quite like the idea of a single weekly playlist. The "for you" bit of AM is nothing special.

Quite impressed with the single weekly playlist from spotify so far.

Anyone else having issues with AM, it's still not playing any tracks for me and just skipping through them. It seems I'm not the only one but haven't found a fix yet.

The "Beats 1. Worldwide. Always on" statement is a big of a misleading boast. It's only "always on" to those 100 supported countries, one of which mine isn't. I get a streaming error when I try to play it, the error - not available in your country. Clearly not always on worldwide then....

I'm suprised none of the media have mentioned that.

Do you live in a proper country?

Er, what's your definition of a proper country...?

UAE at the moment. Very wealthy, very modern, think it would be classed as a proper country. It also has an iTunes store for the country, so it's not as if Apple forgot about it.

My point is, worldwide is a simple definition, anything but worldwide is not worldwide.

My iPad is a UK one, UK iTunes account. The only reasons I can think of are either licensing reasons or possibly offensive content, but considering some of the music I've heard played in clothes, home, etc stores out here I don't think many people would know what is and isn't offensive!

Looking at this list it looks like Middle Eastern countries don't have Beats 1, nor a few others scattered around, so clearly not "worldwide" - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204956

It's definately geo-restricted as I connected to a UK vpn and was able to play it. First track was some awful track by someone called Omi or something with horrible whining girly boy singing so not sure I'll need to try that again.

It's always good to judge a radio station by one song

What is suggests to me is that it's a station that plays different genres to appeal to all. But I hate bad music. I'm not the sort of person who can listen to a station that plays one or two in three tracks I like as I get annoyed at the ones I don't.

I won't listen to any station that plays stuff I don't like/will be offended by in with the stuff I do, which is probably why the only music station I end up bothering with is BBC Six, and why most of the time I use genre stations in things like Google Music. There's so much music out there, why would I want to want my time listening to a single track I don't like?

I'm guessing that it has programing like traditional radio stations, but do you need to tune in when they are on or do they have them available as podcast type things?

A question on the Match thing; is there anyway to get iTunes Match to recognise FLAC tracks and match them without having to convert them to mp3/aac/alac? Seems an odd restriction for Apple to still not support FLAC when it's no more open than mp3.

Just noticed today that if you go into your iOS settings > general > usage > manage storage > music you can now see which artists are taking up space and by how many songs.

It'll be handy to free up some potential space if your're running low and want to dump a few albums.

I've just gone to Amazon, and there's a big banner across the top of the page announcing Prime Music - a million songs now available to stream for anyone with Prime membership.

I haven't had a chance to browse through it yet, but it looks good to me. I loved having Google when I had a 90 day free subscription, but there was no way I would have paid 8 quid a month for it. Now it looks like I get an equivalent for free (already pay for Prime). Unless of course they stick the price of Prime up...

Yes, you can download them to play in the Amazon music app.

It's a good selection, but I've already found a couple of albums I would have liked that aren't included.

There's a Tunisian metal band I like called Myrath - it's always my first test to see if the service is good. Spotify and Amazon don't have it, Deezer did.

1m? That's a lot less than the big hitters (and smaller hitters). Imagine they've aimed for the middle of the road. Searching on the Amazon site it's great, hard to tell when you're in prime and normal half the time, and most of what I just searched for wasn't available.

I paid for their music cloud storage a few years ago, but the mobile app was pretty basic, and the uploader poor.

OK, so I fire up the Amazon TV stick (linked to my wife's Prime account) and look at music, and it's showing info on Prime Music. "Log in to the Amazon website to add your favourite music to your Prime account". Not very user friendly, that. No option to search prime music, etc, only a few crap poptastic playlists and genre playlists.
