Bahrain is questionable as well, looks like Turkey pulled a masterstroke and they'll get next year on the cheap.

What a great way to get the Americans interested again in F1. They still havent forgiven the FIA over that tyre debarcle a few years back, now this. Hopefully its just 'little big man' Bernie trying to show his muscle. The man is getting lost up himself. Personally I'm up for new tracks and new races. Its supposed to be a global series and currently the two biggest countries in the world dont hold a race. Thats a thought, the inaugural Russian GP

Yes but you know they wouldn't get rid of that one. Bernie would use it as an excuse to get one of the older ones to upgrade their facilities like he always does.

So we have Williams-Renault next year, how about McLaren-Honda for 2013?

It's a huge gamble for McLaren to take if they do go down that route, but having said that everyone is starting afresh for 2013, so perhaps it's a calculated one. Honda do know how to make V6 turbo engines though I hope this is indicative of more manufacturers returning to the sport, I would love to see Ferarri, Mercedes, Cosworth, Renault, Honda and VW (Maybe under Audi) in the sport

I thought the engine format was partially setup up with Audi in mind as they said they would build a V6 but then they changed their minds later. Still if Honda can go from pulling out completely to engine builders in 4 years then anything can be reversed.

I THOUGHT MCLAREN WERE DEVELOPING THEIR OWN CUSTOM ENGINES. ISN'T IT ALL PART OF THE PLAN TO BECOME A SPORTS CAR COMPANY LIKE FERRARI? personally i'd like them to go with honda as this isn't the time be going all in as an engine manufacturer.

Pedro de la Rosa lets rip about the lack of in-season testing and the odd criteria for defining "young" drivers: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96338

And here, the drivers argue in favour of a restriction on DRS in the practice and qualifying sessions: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/form...e/15764552.stm

friday night for the trucks (check timings but i think around 9pm)
satuday night for nationwide series (just after midnight)
sunday night around 7pm for the sprint cup.

it's extremely close in the cup series between two drivers (equivalent to 3 race positions or less, depending on bonus points) so should make for an exciting race (if you don't mind oval racing!). i was at homestead the last time tony stewart - my favourite driver - took the championship in 2005, and he has a great chance again. wish i was there!
Of course if the race over runs and goes beyond its FTA slot they'll extend it right?

Surely Audi are more concerned with DTM and the Le Mans series. Im sure thay would rather win Le Mans (again) than play in F1. Although maybe their engineers would like a new challenge. Diesel F1 car anybody?

yeah it was a bit of a cock-up, that .
i subscribe so it didn't matter to me, but a massive own-goal for PS which has probably caused more harm than good. even without the red flag delay, they would not have got the race in. bizarre.

on a more positive note, the race and title battle made for compelling viewing. two drivers tied on points for the championship at the end, with stewart taking it on most wins. he pretty much had to win to guarantee the championship, while carl edwards only had to finish ahead of stewart. feel for edwards but i'm sure he'll get a championship soon enough.

If you're 40 with no other way of getting a race then I don't blame him. There's little chance for him to test at McLaren as it is with the testing rules, I'd rather be racing than on the sidelines.

From HRT's perspective I guess they'll be interested in what knowledge he can pass on from being at McLaren.
