The Digital Fix Forums Albums of the Year 2019

It's that time of year again for anyone who wants to post their favourite albums of the year.

Last year I said it was "quantity over quality" well I'm glad to say this year the quality is well and truly up. I'd say any of my top 4 this year would have topped last years list.

1. Tool – Fear Inoculum
2. Rival Sons - Feral Roots
3. Opeth – In Cauda Venenum
4. Blacktop Mojo – Under The Sun
5. Rammstein - Rammstein
6. Phil Campbell – Old Lions Still Roar
7. Tom Hannay – The Fire Waits
8. Whitesnake – Flesh & Blood
9. John 5 – Invasion
10. Slipknot – We Are Not Your Kind

Just missing out on a top ten spot were:

The Cold Stares - Ways
The Black Keys – Let’s Rock
Bruce Soord – All This Will Be Yours
Texas Hippie Coalation – High In The Saddle
Lana Del Ray – Norman ******* Rockwell
FMA + 12 Gage – Parental Advisory
Stereophonics – Kind
Life Of Agony – The Sound Of Scars
The Heavy – Sons
Lindemann – F & M

Also worthy of a mention are:

Leo Sayer - Selfie
The Waterboys – Where The Action Is
Steve Earle - Guy
Townes Van Zandt – Sky Blue
Royal Republic – Club Majesty
Orville Peck – Pony
Status Quo – Backbone
Tesla – Shock
The Alarm – Sigma
Bring Me The Horizon – AMO

Can barely remember what I listen to these days. I blame convenience of streaming.

But here’s a few off the top:

1. Weyes Blood - Titantic Rising
2. Big Thief - Two Hands
3. Big Thief - U.F.O.F.
4. Reign Wolf - Hear Me Out
5. Nerija - Blume

I've given it a few plays and it's not a bad album. I really like Vagabond but his voice reminds me of another singer songwriter and I can't for the life of me think who.

In a way it makes more sense to do the list now anyway, these albums have now had long enough to get familiar with them, and one album on the list (Moron Police) I only discovered in the last couple of months.
