Absolutely brilliant. It had everything, great aliens, great acting and a great storyline. Mystery and suspense by the bag full and what a cliffhanger. Music was top notch as well.

At least they showed it after the credits to give you time to switch over

Didn't expect that, really, really well done. episode 1 of each series can be slow or a bit dull but this was excellent. Also a little bit dark for dr who

Excellent stuff. Shame about the squeezed credits and the insistence on reminding me to miss So You Think You Can Dance - as if I wasn't already going to.

Blimey. Moffat gives the audience 45 minutes of intelligent TV that currently makes no sense (as it won't be until the next episode that we get some answers), and it's brilliant. The man has balls, honking big balls. If only it could be next week already.

What a load of toss !

Only joking, but someone is bound to come and say it at some point

I loved it, agree with the above, had everything you want / need from Who

Just need this quality, every week with American style season lengths !

Many questions asked, cant wait on the answers (and the guesses)

Loved the "im a screamer" line

If this is the standard of the episodes in this series then we are in for something really memorable indeed, loved it, there was so much going on and goodness knows how what is going to happen next week. Nice to see that this episode was dedecated to Elisabeth Sladen.

Great episode, but the cliffhanger might have had more impact if it wasn't shown in every trailer for this season.

Also, Amy Pond is looking gorgeous this season!

Pretty rubbish.. Don't remember seeing a single alien in it

In all seriousness, loved some of the one liners and an intriguing start to the series.

Lots of stuff happening, but what was the story? Baffled by the praise for this.

Brilliant idea - Aliens (and horrid looking ones at that) that you instantly forget when you turn away.

Oh so good! And of course River's bad day is The Library. That's going to stretch some kids brains. Can't wait for next week.

Great episode, so much suspense!! Such creepy aliens!

Had to look up where I'd seen the actor who played Canton before, can't believe I forgot he was Romo Lampkin in BSG!

I think they meant he was halfway through regenerating when he was killed

Those aliens were pretty amazing, with a full on War of the Worlds style vaporisation kill! That was a pretty dark moment, and it looks like Rory is in danger of being the next victim!

The actor who played Canton has been in a few other things as well. He played Crowley in Supernatural (ironically playing an Brit in an American show that time) and was in Leverage too.

I mainly remember him from Leverage but had forgotten that he was in BSG. Apparently it was his dad playing the old Canton.

Haven't seen tonight's ep yet, but judging by the info in my SickBeard config, part 2 is tomorrow not next week!
