Anyone else noticed most football kits seem to only last one season?

Noticed the new home kits for the Premier League teams are labelled 2010/11, so only lasting one season, now it's become pretty regular that away kits are around for only one season, but now it's the home kits too! Why don't the FA/Premier league stipulate that the kits should be kept for 2 years and sponsorship deals shouldn't end on halfway through, resulting in a new kit!

I think the top sides like Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal release a new home shirt every two years, however they always almost release a 2nd and and 3rd kit every season.

Clubs lower down the league have new home and 2nd kits every year.

I thought most clubs release a new kit annually? I know spurs decided to do annual kits about 4-5 seasons ago and I'm pretty sure Liverpool have a new kit every year

be thankful you didnt buy that grey man utd strip that lasted 45 mins and of course changing the strip every year means a regular cash flow as fans have to grab the latest items or look silly wearing last years top

The situation with kits is getting silly - why is a third kit needed anyway? Clubs should always play in their 1st choice kit home and away imo, with a change to a 2nd kit only when the 1st clashes with the home team. Really ****** me off seeing pompey playing in white or black when against a team in red like Man Utd or Liverpool, and there's no excuse for Utd or Liverpool not to be in red when playing us away - if shorts or socks still clash they can be changed - I remember Man Utd in red with black shorts in the past, but the shirt should always be 1st choice if possible.

The FA/Premier league should designate an away colour for each team, so clashes can't happen and a third kit isn't neccessary

I think all teams should play in Red, home or away. Then only one kit is needed for the premiership, it would make the football interesting as well.

Just because a new kit is labelled as 2010/11 it doesn't necessarily mean it won't be used the following season as well..

It's always been like that hasn't it..?

If you look on Kitbag.com website, the liverpool, chelsea and united kits are labelled as 2010/11, the celtic kit is labelled as 2010/12

Arsenal home kit: *The new Arsenal home kit is for one season, with a commemorative kit being introduced to celebrate the Club’s 125th anniversary to coincide with the 2011/12 season.

Yer! It's bloody annoying that Spurs do that. They even had the gall to release a statement saying that 'our research suggests this is what fans what' or some other bollo's.

Don't really bother anymore - I have an old 1991 FA Cup Final shirt which I use instead! Mind you, I do quite like the new one...... argh!

So don't buy them? I'm still wearing a Morecambe shirt from three years ago, and given that our new logo looks like it's been stolen from an American Football team, I doubt I'll be buying another one in the near future.

No sympathy for the fans who moan about them changing too often, but buy the new strips regardless.

The price of shirts, even if you buy one every year is still less than your average designer shirt.

I don't think Ł40 a year is too bad at all (if you must buy one every year).

The England shirt I bought in 1998 is still going strong as a running top.

Not at all. Nothing wrong with wearing an old kit, most blokes wouldn't find that silly. If we were talking about women then maybe so.

As part of most sponsorship deals its stipulated that each kit (ie away and 3rd) are given a certain number of outings per season.

All man utd kits are for 2 seasons... but they stagger the home and away kit.
So every yr a new kit comes out but the last for 2 yrs.

this yr is an exception as the sponsor is changing.

Yep I know why they do it - money, it's just a shame to not see teams in their famous colours when they could be, but instead in some god awful design that means nothing.
