Just rang up to cancel my Sports Sub and they've given me it for free for 2 months. I stressed I was only interested in PL Football.

Not that I watch anything other than football, but it'll save me the effort of ringing up to re-subscribe in August.

I sure hope my new viewing cards arrive in the post today as yesterday I had an email warning me and already this morning the box has flashed a banner up twice reminding me.

I seem to have a bug, lots of channels not allowing me to record/rewind/pause itv ch5 sky 1,2,3 and lots of others!
anybody know what might be causing this? my last box died and one of the problems was that the same channels lost signal, never to return.

We are already on SKY+HDbox in the living room and I want another for my bedroom I currently have a normal Sky box but dads just had the dish replaced and we now have 8 ports on the dish in stead of 4 allowing me to get a Sky+HD Box (cause we are already using the 4 due to other boxes in the house). From what I have read I will have to pay the full £200 for the box and not get the £50 offer cause we already owe a HDbox and I'll have to pay an additional £10 a month If I want the HD pack. Is there anyone elsa who sells the boxes or would I need to aquire it from Sky because I will need a card for it ? ANd because the dish on the side of the house is not theirs anymore would they have an issue giving me another box, should I decide to go though them and it even if I am no longer using their sky dish? ANd finally is there a max of boxs or ports/tuners connected for sky multi room is it acceptable to have more than 4 tuners connected if you go over that would they charge extra because it could see anything on the website.
sorry was long Thankyou
Mas

Anyone else had nothing but problems since the new HD guide?

It's sluggish and slow and when I went to set up my recordings for this week just now, there were only the progs up to Thursday afternoon. After that there is nothing

I've found sometimes that with Wipeout USA, even though the programme has been watched, the status changes back to RECORDED, and had 3 copies of exactly the same recording on the drive at one point this week. Only that programme though.

The BLUE button channel hopping through the favourites is a bit odd at times where it chooses to pick up from, but think the new EPG is much better. Still think the actual time frame to view on the programme section could offer a wider amount of hours though. Oh, and where did the volume go from the Audio setup section?

You can buy a Sky HD box from eBay or some other reseller and just phone Sky and have them pair your viewing card to the new box. You will have to pay an extra £10 a month if you want the full HD pack on it though, or you'll just get the free HD channels. This extra £10 charge sticks in the throat of most Sky HD customers.

Since the new EPG I've been doing a regualr, weekly, reboot. I haven't had many problems since doing this and it's usually a bit more responsive too.

The new EPG seems to have properly crippled my HD box, its now incredibly sluggish, meaning it needs a reboot at least once a week now instead of once a month.

Is there anything I can do about this - i.e. is it a sign my box is on the way out or is it a common problem?

Whats the max number of outputs you can have off a dish? Currently have 4 (2 to Sky+, 2 to HD) and I'd like to use my older Sky+ in a 3rd room, can I?

That depends on the LNB you currently have, I'm assuming you only have a Quad (4 outputs) you'll need a Octo, which will then give you 2 spare, ebay would be your best bet at about £20ish, just be careful not to knock the dish when you do the swap out.

Just double check which LNB you've got though, you may have been lucky when they did the initial install, I know I was as the installer was out of Quads.

I think 8 is the max by the way.

I've just been down to the new flat I am moving into, and it has one of these IRS systems installed?

There is a big communal dish, and two cables coming down and through the wall into a box on the inside wall of the flat.

Are there any problems inherent with using one of these systems in terms of quality of picture / sound?

It would be a right result if I don't have to pay £60 to install my own dish.

Hi, have just bought an HD box and was wondering if there is a minimum service term for *just* the HD package (ie the tenner a month charge)?

My plan was to basically test the water with HD for The Ashes, and then get rid after a couple of months (but retaining SD sky) - is this possible or is there a 12 month minimum contract?

Cheers

It looks like you are tied in for 12 months if you read the small print here:

Sky

I can't see any mention of it in the fine print. I will be staying with them regardless, but will I be able to drop just the hd pack after a few months? I can't see any mention of a minimum term in the small print, and if you order a new channel, you don't have to have it for a year minimum do you?
