Hi guys, been a long while without internet but FINALLY got it back now and just come straight here to the sports forum and had a scroll around and can't see a thing about the ususal premiership prediction competition.

Is there not one this year?

See post 12 for details of how to enter

It's usually run by Mr Dubby, but he has been worryingly absent for quite a while now. If anyone knows his whereabouts, I'm sure we'd all like to know he's ok.

As for one being started, I don't mind being the banker as usual and I already have some forumite's money in lieu of this year's comp.

But we really need someone to run it, maddogsuk did alot of work last season, I don't know if he's up for it this time around??

Mr Dubby has run these competitions in the past but the problem was he was no longer around during the later stages of last years competition so somebody else will have to do it these season.

Like I said I wish I had the time to do it!

If no one comes forward it will just be down to the Sun Dream Team then!

The Premier League site are doing a predictor league as well as the fantasy football league.

If someone sets a league up we could join up.

Only allows 50 people though, although we could join 2 leagues together if there's enough interest?

What's everyone's thoughts?

Might be a good idea, although the old format will always be the best

But that idea would definitely work.

Both games use the same login details so that also helps as a lot of people have signed up for the Premier League fantasy football already!

Please Read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111

Ok ladies and gentlemen, I have set up a mini-league for the forums. Go to http://iknowthescore.premierleague.com/ and register your details for the IKTS game. You can use the same log-in if you have a fantasy team too.

League name: WWW.THEDVDFORUMS.COM

Joining code: 4c1U-JEWI

This is to tide us by if the usual prediction competition fails to take place. I can start a new thrtead if you think it is advisable. Also, people who have paid for this years comp, will get their money back unless we come to some sort of arrangement for prize money between ourselves.

It'd be nice to see all the regulars from the previous years compos taking part

As long as you have MS Excel 2000 or greater installed I can send you the spreadsheets I wrote last year. Its simply a case of copy and pasting the predictions in and pressing a few buttons to update the leagues once the final scores have been announced.

It will also give you live scores and tables if you care to enter the scores as the goals go in.

If you want to play with the speadsheet, you can grab a copy here (Save Target As)

Uploading the spreadsheet to Google Documents would have been a whole lot easier if the document size wasn't limited to 500KB

This seems to work pretty well and does all the calculations for you - what benefits are there to going back to the glue and scissors method?
