Trying no to get too excited for this. It looks incredible and I loved the book, but it'll be heartbreaking watching this for a few years only to have the story just stop without a real conclusion.

Looking really good.

As I think I have mentioned before, it wouldn't surprise me if we see the ending to the saga in the TV series rather than the books.

There's a monthly comicbook adaption starting soon which will also probably get to the end before the bloody novels!

Sky just announced that they start broadcasting the show on April 18th - that's the day after the US broadcast. Fantastic.

I was looking forward to this but the clips have put me off, the walls look a bit iffy.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but a new trailer has been linked here

Nudity and beheading. This can't premiere soon enough for me.

Was just watching the new trailer and realized who's playing Littlefinger - had seen the actor's name but hadn't made the link to The Wire. Now I'm doubly excited.

Can't decide if I want to watch this as it airs, or save it up and get immersed over a weekend . . .

Now I love Sean Bean.......I love medieval stuff.......swords...amour........knights.

I don't even mind a bit of magic and dragons thrown in.......

But that clip, left me somewhat underwhelmed..........

I think it's going to be pants ( sorry Sean )

This can't come soon enough.

The one concern I have is that some of the shots just look a bit too 'clean' - almost like Zena or that old Hercules series with Kevin Sorbo

I've had the same thought - mostly during the scene in the dusty street where it looks like a big sword fight is about to take place. In the books, this scene happens at night and I figured that a dark filter would be added in post-production as they do with many night scenes in TV and film, but this scene has been in full daylight in every trailer so far and the lighting/set looks quite fake.

This looks amazing!!

Michelle Fairley as Catelyn, what seriously? Does anyone know where there are shots of her from GoT?

I know nothing about this, but find it quite strange that a big American production seems to rely heavily on yorkshire accents.... That old dear at the beginning of the trailer sounds like something out of an Alan Bennett play...

Loving the look of this and was wondering if the books are worth checking out? I'm semi-addicted to big epics at the moment and am currently near the end of The Dark Tower III. I managed to grab all of those (bar the final one, grr) from a charity shop for a fiver!
What with this book series being unfinished, is it worth a punt? What are they similar to? etc

But back to the show, yes this looks very strong imo, good to HBO getting stuck into the fantastical!

Yes, yes and yes. Epic fantasy, but unlike anything else I've read before.
Although part of me wishes I hadn't read them, so that I don't know what's coming in the TV series.
