Card reader won't read a full 4gb MS Pro Duo - can I flash or update my reader?

See post 3!

Since it appears my card-reader is limiting what it sees in terms of flash memory (ie won't read a full capacity 4gb MS Pro Duo)... is there any way around this? Is it possible to flash or update a card reader?

...or should I swap them between my machines???

TIA!

Can anyone help with this one, please?

Having been burnt with an eBay sourced card, I purchased a couple of 4gb MS Pro Duo's from a reputable online store.

They arrived today and I have opened one - the trouble is, it only formats (FAT32) to 1.26gb!

Am I doing something wrong? Surely it's not a fake?

...just unpacked the second of these - and it's exactly the same!

Am I doing something wrong, here? Can't believe these would be fakes...

Answer seems to be my PC's card reader which is limiting the size card it sees!

On my main PC these cards showed the 1.26gb I mentioned, yet on my second PC (a Dell), via the card reader it shows 3.81gb!

The larger capacities have problems with most readers. Might be better to get them to confirm that the Reader will definately work with your 4gb card before ordering it!
