Backlight Leakage (LCD)

could anyone explain what this is please?

please? Searches i have done are too random and talk about different models. I just wan't a general description of what backlight leakage means in relation to how it affects the screen. Would appreciate it!

LCD panels don't 'leak' light in that way. Backlight leakage, if any, is visible as lighter patches on the screen itself when watching an LCD (it's more apparent in a darkened room).

thanks guys. I have heard the new37 inch Toshiba's suffer from this. Was thinking about getting one too! Never mind
