TV Picture Problem

Got a 28" widescreen Goodmans TV for the bedroom.

Picture has suddenly shrunk to smaller than 4:3 with inwardly curved sides - rest of the screen is black - this is the same on all channels and AV inputs.

Is it a case of binning the TV or would the repair costs be minimal ?

Any ideas

Same has happened to my 32" JVC and it is only 3 1/2 years old. Sounds like a problem with the tube and I doubt it would be worth fixing. I'm going to use it as an excuse to get a shiny new 32" HD ready LCD when the JVC finally dies (it's only my gaming TV at the moment and still playable - just).

Anyone else any idea what might be wrong?
