Buying A CD Player From The US?

Hi

I would love to get a Pioneer CDJ-800 CD Player, but in the UK they're still close to £450. After curreny conversions and everything, I can pick one up from the US for around £250. Now this sounds a total bargain, and I'm well up for picking one up when I go to the US later.

But what are any potential problems? Do I need a voltage converter or anything? I'm sure there's something I'm blatantly missing but can't quite figure it out yet.

Cheers for any help.

You could get grief from customs - it's over the value threshhold so is liable for VAT when brought into the UK.

Import duty and VAT. Reckon on about 22% give or take.

Depending on the price you actually do end up paying in the US (and a quick web search indicates more than this, but I obviously haven't researched it to the same degree as you) - you can very broadly reckon on adding around GBP100 for taxes and the transformer.
