Miller's Crossing indeed.

I seem to remember reading that the style of S3 was partly a reaction to how popular the series had come. Additionally that the quick-fire sketch format and that the laughter (wasn't it a track rather than live audience?) was a BBC thing forced on them, and it was S3 when the LOG were given more creative freedom. This seems like a long time ago now so the accuracy of this may be a bit off.

Holy thread resurrection Batman!!!

Anybody else looking forward to the 3 upcoming episodes? These and doctor who are pretty much all I'm looking forward to watching this Christmas.

Even so many years later, I still find myself quoting it

I really enjoyed it, and can't wait to see Pop settle in to his new home! And I was confused with the Pauline story to begin with before they did the reveal. It's great to see they seem to have slipped right back into their characters with ease.

I'm glad the next part is tonight.

Thought it was brilliant. This come backs usually are dreadful but this was well up to the standards of the original.

That was top notch.

So many little touches as per usual.

Loved it. Brilliant background gags and they slipped right back into the characters with ease. Just the right amount of darkness as well.

I thought it was much better than Season 3 or the film....

Haven't watched last night's yet and was worried by kohoutec's post.

Hopefully it is good as it will be a marker as to whether I jump on tour tickets straight away tomorrow or not.

Don't worry seems it was just me
I didn't hate it, without giving anything away I just thought they went a bit OTT right from the get go instead of building it up a bit. I guess there's a lot to squeeze into 3 episodes though.

Much preferred tonights episode, which probably means everyone else thinks it's crap

The Bingo caller bit last night was genius. And they haven't really killed her... Have they?

Managed to beat the bots and get tickets to see them in September.

I'm also really enjoying it, back at top quality hopefully it'll come back again soon. Also hoping for Papa Lazarou to make an appearance tonight. The Bingo scene was rather touching I thought, like a mood poem.

The movie like in most cases I think was inferior to the series, what was top quality was the christmas special.

The bingo caller was beautifully done IMHO.

Tubbs and Edward were a bit meh for me though.

Hmm doubtful they'll be aloud to bring back a blacked up character even if, as shown in one episode where he whites up, that is the actual colour of the character.

I've only seen the first one but thought it was great. I was a bit worried when these new shows were announced but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was.

I've still think the first episode could've done with a touch of subtlety, but overall all I did really enjoy this
