Colin Firth for Bond say I! Failing that, how about Rupert Everett?

I don't see the big problem with Die Another Day. I thought it was the most fun Bond movie since the Moore era. Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough were dull as ditchwater.

Lets be honest guys, with no real candidate about and the lack of any desire to turn out anything but a XXX clone could it be time to give 007 a few year off again.

Wasn't "Die Another Day" supposed to be his last anyway?

Ok then......

Goldeneye was excellent but let down by a non Bond soundtrack.

TND is good, well directed and has an excellent soundtrack although I felt the last third dragged just a little.

TWINE has an excellent first twenty minutes but suffers from slowness in places and a badly edited closing sequence.

Die Another Day is quite simply the worst directed, written and produced film (let alone Bond film) I have EVER seen. The bad guy is badly written, the guy cannot act and then there is the cornucopia of awful CGI. The director is also clearly out of his depth and the whole thing is a complete mess.

It would be a pity for Brosnan to go out with this total turkey, he needs to do one more that is a darn sight better (it can't be any worse than DAD lets face it) with new writers, fresh ideas and a director who actually knows what he is doing.

Glad David Arnold is on board for the soundtrack for Bond 21. At least I will still buy the soundtrack CD even if the film is pants, just this time please no Madonna and put ALL of the soundtrack on the CD rather than leaving two thirds off it for Madonna's alternative mixes and pop video

I can't think of anyone better than Owen to take on the role of Bond.
All the next film has to do is not have an invisible car in it to be better...

Has Kiether Sutherland entered any ones minds for Bond, Might be difficult not to think of him as Jack Bauer though, or Christian Bale i could see as a future Bond.

Lardy Bond or gay Bond? I think not.

What? The chubby faced, blonde American? No. Can safely say that’s your own original idea there!

I’ve always said that Bale would have made a great Bond. He must have been offered it and between that and Batman I would have thought 007 was the better role if only because he’d not be in a mask and rubber suit for two thirds of the movie.

With you all the way on this.

Take a year out to find a new Bond, & put the picture back to 2006, or give Brosnan a huge one off pay rise (that he deserves IMO) to do one more while they look.

I must say this is all a bit like when Roger Moore hang up his PPK, a lot of people (especially the various Bond fan clubs, yes I was a member of a couple ) did not like him because he was not Conery, then when he left he was prased & suddenly become a great Bond and got the recognition he deserved for keeping the franchise going.

I have to admit I have not got a favorite Bond as all have been good & bad in there various films, although I have to admit I have not seen a below par performance from Brosnan.

Brosnan isn't out yet, I think he's rocking the boat; he wants a Russia With Love type script, he certainly deserves it, the guy loves playing him.

"the guy cannot act"

funny you should say that as he's currently playing Hamlet at the RSC...

Kiefer may have been born here, but he's of Canadian descent (son of Candian, Donald Sutherland), grew up in Canada and moved to L.A. He's a Canadian national (though dual national being British born also).

He's British by birth nationality only, but has no connection with this country other than that, plus has a Yank/Canadian accent.

I'd say about as British as Greg Rusedski (who wasn't even born in Britain, he was born in Canada, but is only allowed to be a British tennis player because of his ancestry, and that fact all our tennis players are crap )

I wish the series would just roll up and die. It's tired, and it needs a long long rest.

The Living Daylights had a good screen test of Sam Neil, if only he was perhaps a bit younger he would be a good candidate for Bond.

Go with that myself. Give him a decent, unamericanised script akin to the old Connery style movies which Brosnan himself loved as a boy and let him bow out in some style.

Don't think most of the people mentioned are worth a look at all. See where people are coming from with the bad guy in 24 S3. Colin Farrell is usually suggested, but I don't think a fag smoking, hard drinking, cursing Irishman would suit Bond at the moment.

I'd go with Hugh Jackman or Keifer Sutherland....or both!
