What's your least favourite film genre(s)?

Are there any genre of films you don't like? I had to think long and heard before I came up with Romcoms.

I quite like classic romcoms like It happened One Night or Roman Holiday but cannot stand modern ones.

I hate any movie featuring gangsters & organised crime (including all Godfather films) and any film shot mainly within a prison.

Out of curiosity, are you saying you automatically hate any movie featuring gangsters & organised crime and any film shot mainly within a prison, regardless of how well they are filmed i.e directed, acted, written etc ?

Musicals. Without a shadow of a doubt. I've never seen a musical in my life that I've enjoyed. When people start singing along to further the story, it just pulls me right out the film.

I don't generally like horror at all either, but there are one or two huge exceptions.

I thought long and hard and came up with... none!

I'll watch anything.

My brother loves comedys and hates horror flicks. But he thinks Dumb and Dumber is the best film ever made

Oh, I can't watch an entire pr0n flick. They bore the tits off me.

So Rocky Horror Picture Show is out on both counts then?

It doesn't have much of a chance, no (can't usually stand Tim Curry either). Confess I've never seen it though so cannot give a credible comment on the film.

I actually wanted to see that. But a friend of mine hated it so much, it put me off seeing it.

I'm no musical fan, but things like Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig And The Angry Inch are just outstanding (both of which I also saw at the theatre as well ). I have nothing against Little Shop of Horrors, or Grease either - both i'll watch if they're on TV..

Mine would certainly be rom-coms. They just make me nauseous.

Period dramas also do nothing for me whatsoever (except have a soporific effect).

Oh yeah, costume dramas bore me to tears as well. Absolutely hated Barry Lyndon and can't fathom the unanimous praise it gets. Watched A Bridge Too Far last night and everytime Ryan O'Neal appeared I got annoyed.

Horror, because it's such a staggeringly repetitive genre. That's not to say that I don't have a fair few classics in my collection, but horror these days just doesn't do anything for me.
