Whats delay time on an amp for.

My amp has delay time feature on it for the speakers.But i dont have a clue what its for.:confused:

Any one know?

Unless all your speakers are equidistant from your listening position the sound will reach your ears at the wrong time so you need to delay the signal ever so slightly for the closer ones, (normally centre & rears) to compensate..

eg. A bullet panning from front to back, would sound a bit odd if you heard the sound from the closer speakers, ie the rears first. So you delay the signal to it slightly.

Bit of an extreme example, but hopefully you get the idea..
