Amazon Order Emails

Has anyone else noticed that the amazon order confirmation emails recently changed and don't actually list what you ordered?
They list the shipping address, delivery options and cost breakdown, but not the name of the item. I tend to keep my order emails, but these are mostly useless as you can't tell what you ordered unless you click on the link to the order details on the amazon website.

Yep. Absolutely frustrating as hell.

It’s because google and other firms were scraping the emails for price data.

Agree. Hardly customer friendly.

Given how dominant they are, its incredible how old fashioned their site is. A mess of fonts, styles etc.

If you compare it to something like wayfair, they're Miles behind from a UX POV

Oh yeah. It just gives you the total price and number of items. I hadn't actually noticed until you pointed it out.

Annoying as hell for anyone who tries to keep track of what they've ordered/how much it was.

I like to keep a copy of my emails as it helps work out where/when I've bought something a few months/years down the line.

Amazon stopped their widget allowing most of the price comparison sites to work.

Presume the likes of Camel must now use bots similar to Google to now trawl Amazon site for prices.

Also they threatened site doing price comparison with loss of affiliate income hence why places like blu-ray.com dropped the price history and price drop functionality and now only give current price.

Sites like e-readeriq seem to be relying on user donations to survive as a result.

Yes, I seem to remember that e-readeriq was kicked off the affid scheme a couple of years back now.

I hadn’t connected the two things but now it has been mentioned... I have the Yahoo app on my mobile and now every email I receive from Amazon comes with a lovely top section Repeating the contents of the email which is basically Yahoo trying to skim referral income direct from my inbox!
