Dell 3000 sound upgrade?

1. Do you think it would it make much difference adding something like a Creative SB live to this system rather than using the onboard sound? Just for CD's and wma's really.

2. How easy is it?

3. How would I do it?

Thanks

1, only if u are a usic buff and films bufff and knows the quality of sound. tbh get better speakers.
2 very easy,
3, open the box, locate a pci slot a white one, and plug it in, but u must disable the onboard sound via bios but thats pretty much simple stuff.

1 would depend totally on the quality of speakers that you are using, I would doubt a SB live would offer much of an upgrade compaired to most modern on board sound.

2. yeah pretty easy

3 see phil's post or see this guide

I did put my old Creative Live Digital 5.1 card into my Dim 3000 so i could carry on getting 5.1 sound. My understanding is that the onboard is only 2.1 sound.
