Question Weird Science on DVD ?

Noticed last year that 'Weird Science' was on Region 1 DVD. I have now decided to try and purchase this film. But It seems to have disapeared into the realm known as the 'deleted zone'.
Does anyone know if this is to be re-released /released on R1,2 or 4 at somepoint ?

Noticed on Amazon.com that the region 1 release is exchanging hands at around $40 a copy.

You can buy them on ebay, but they go for ridiculous prices.

Yeah, AFAIK this and Hughes' other 'Breakfast Club' are getting new discs at some point. I'd imagine a commentary on 'Breakfast Club', but I'm not sure how he sees 'Weird Science'? I'm thinking flop, unfortunately.

You should have started buying dvds a little earlier! My copy only cost me 9.99 when I bought it new way back in August 1999!

True. But I didn't know about discs being deleted and new SE or SSE's being launched in there places at the time.

I suspect the vast majority of people here, didn't start buying dvds till much later than 1999.

Looks like you're going to have to run the gauntlet of Ebay if you want to find the older discs then - I'm afraid!

Nah. I'll hang on and see if a SE is released. If they re-release Breakfast Club as well, then that will be a bonus.

Watched "Weird Science" the other night on Sky - still a very funny film.

But does anyone remember the TV series?

Yep. Definitely compare well to the film. And Vanessa Angel(mmn, Angel:norty: ) is definitely an improvement over Kelly LeBrock(sp?).
