Star Wars: The Last Jedi

So, filming started today in London and cast announcements made (as per the Episode 7 thread).

This is my own speculation, haven't seen any rumours about this:

Public knowledge but spoiler tagged anyway, more speculation:

This thread looks like one of those redacted documents from a spy thriller.

Do we need to spoiler speculation or anything that's in the public domain?

Don't get us started again, I suggested it was ridiculous, if you're obsessed with not getting spoilers why would you even be in the thread. The answer was "this is the way we do things here" as its important for some members to come into a thread to complain you're not using spoiler tags.

So basically we're looking at a thread with nothing but spoilered text, why anyone would bother to come in and read it if they were that bothered is a mystery.

OK fair enough, don't give away a massive plot spoiler, but castings, etc. seems a little over the top.

Didn't realise it had been discussed already so i'll shut up then

And don't even get me started as to how I'm supposed to view a thread like this on my iPad!

I must be the only person to think Laura Dern is a TERRIBLE actor. She was the only thing Jurassic park that sucked. Her over acting is just so distracting to me.

Yes protests fallen on deaf ears, as you can see someone has already come into the thread to complain they've seen a spoiler.

I don't think that we do. Personally, I think that there are too many posts needlessly spoilered. But I have been told off in the past for not spoilering what I thought was a trivial revelation from a film over 20 years old on grounds that someone might not have seen it.

Why does nobody use the term actress anymore?

Re spoilers, if anyone comes into a thread called 'Episode VIII' without having seen Episode VII and as a result something gets spoiled for them, I put that down to their own stupidity.

"Although actor refers to a person who acts regardless of gender, where this term "is increasingly preferred", actress remains in general use; actor is increasingly preferred for performers of both sexes as a gender-neutral term."

I wonder why though. Why does it matter? Must get confusing when they put out casting calls for "actor" when really they mean actress.

That should be spoilered. I didn't know you could use the term actor for actresses these days

No idea, I just read that 'actresses' prefer being called actor so started using it. Not really a big deal.
