Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Seeing as this has (somewhat unsurprisingly) been picked up by ABC I thought I'd start a thread for it.

Quote:
The series has been picked up by the network for a full season and is expected to hit the airwaves this fall - no word on an episode count at this time. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that ABC will begin a "major marketing push" with the show this Sunday where a special look at the series will air before the season finale of "Once Upon a Time."

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary.

Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

Quite looking forward to this myself. There's rumours of a Hulk cameo in the pilot, and there's further rumours there'll be a preview/trailer for this in the advert break one of ABCs shows on Sunday night.

So, thoughts?

That pic looks like something from a Dr Who spin-off.

Apart from Coulson, why do all the other agents look about 12 years old?

To appeal to that sort of demographic? dunno... Although I'm looking forward to it, I'm reserving judgement until I've seen some footage. If Whedon's behind it it should be alright at the very least.

It takes place after the events of the Avengers, yet Coulson lives...

Although, Ming Na Wen does look pretty amazing for someone who's will be 50 this year!

Looking forward to it - maybe there's a whole "training new agents" vibe to it?

I love Ming Na

The fact that this is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Joss Whedon is involved makes it something I'll certainly be watching. I'm extremely intrigued and confused as to how Coulson is involved.

It's an Asian thing, look at Lucy Liu in Elementary, she's 44 and still looks stunning as hell

So how are they going to explain

Oh and anyone want to bet on how long it takes Titus Welliver, Mark Pelligrino, Alan Dale, Megan Mullally etc to appear it in?

They have access to Gods. Surely one of them can bring the dead back to life?

Kind of ruins any bit of tension in the show though wouldn't it.

True. They could make it a complicated process, limited viable candidates for regeneration e.t.c. so it's not a case of, "oh, you're dead. Hold on a minute"

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Did he definitely die in The Avengers then?

From what I can remember, I don't think we did see it. Just Nick Fury saying that he had.

We only have Fury's word for it, & he's known to lie if the occasion warrants it.

In the movie

It's a theory!

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yeah I just presumed he said it to motivate the team into action.
