Haven't really been following that, but why?

Last time there was a writers strike and Paul Haggis handed in his light script and left them to it.

Why are there no writers working on it this time?

Having worked with Eon years ago on a small project I know they're amazingly tight when it comes to cash. While Bond might get well paid I remember having a conversation with Desmond Llewlyn where he admitted to me the only reason he kept doing them was to pay the bills for his wife's care home fees and the money wasn't that great.

I have the Bond 50 boxset but I just can't be bothered getting Skyfall (which there's a space in the box for) or Spectre as I just find them annoying to watch.

QOS might have worked more as a short, the best bits could easily fill 30 mins. Or they could have re release CR with and extra half hour of QOS tacked on to the end.

As much as i liked DC in CR he is not worth the money to bring him back for this

Yeh it's always "this'll be my last" then "hey, they came up with the money"

I think if he quit now, we'll remember him as a pretty good Bond, I liked Skyfall and CR, can't really remember the other ones, but remember QoS not being good. I'm not even sure if there is another one.

Hardly a “popcorn dropping moment” as there’ll be nobody left that doesn’t know about it before going to see it

I know they're trying to drum up interest in this, because there isn't any, but why reveal something like that before anyone's even seen it?!?!

With that and the other leak about a certain returning character there won’t be any surprises left.

Eon have well and truly lost the plot.

I've enjoyed Craig's time in the role and the movies for the most-part have been good, particularly in the cinema. I did think the general critical reaction to Skyfall and Spectre were a bit over the top and their impact has definitely lessened on re-watches, but they're good additions to the Bond canon.

I'm really interested to see where they go with this next one although I'd loved to have seen Boyle's movie. I still think they've failed to hit the heights that the recent Mission Impossible movies have and the original Bourne trilogy - those movies stand up to repeated viewings fat better than Bond and the last MI one is on a different level altogether.

I haven't read the article but I would assume her character is going to be 007 for all of a few minutes in the film. I'm assuming he's left/on leave from MI6 so they've given his 00 designation to someone else assuming that he's not coming back until his complains and he's reinstated as 007. They're trying to be all modern etc.

Yet, they thought he was dead at the start of Skyfall, even sold his flat and everything but didn’t give his 00 number to anyone else

It's a film, they can do what they want.

Dumb move IMO. They should have called Tim Hiddleston (for example) and just got on with it.

And the official title is:

No Time To Die

Nice to see they've gone back to using the Random Title Generator Machine employed for most of the Brosnan era (& every Steven Seagal movie).
