You could tell he thought the last couple of films were just dull dumb explosion-fests and I don't blame him for getting out if the next one looked like being another.

the guy has no charisma, just look at king arthur, it's like watching a muppet acting.

he had no charisma in Croupier either. It's like people saw him wearing a Tux & said 'Ooh, he looks like James Bond!'

Hmmm well unless you were in my head, you'd be wrong. I thought he had the ability to play the role well. Better than any of the actors doing the rounds at the moment. Name me one British Male actor, that wasnt in a Lord of the Rings film, or Harry Potter etc etc, who would also be good for the role.

I think he is reserved, which is alot different from having no charisma. He is a good actor, and if watch the BMW films you'll see what kind of Bond he'd be. Especially in 'The Hire - Beat the Devil' and 'The Hire - Ticker'.

Its a shame he has left, A good Bond let down by substandard scripts with Directors and Crews screwing around with the forumla to give 'what the audiences want!!??' You know I'm talking about you Tamahori!! As Wade and Purvis are writing the next script chances on the board mean that we could get a dire film ruining who evers the next Bond to ingratiate himself with the fans

I assume you mean British given that english represents only 20% of the main Bonds.

Who else thinks that the guy from The Passion would make a good Bond?

I don't think he's british though.

I read ages ago he was tired of the over the top explosions and ridiculous plots of the last few. The producers (broccoli's) wanted to continue in the same vein as the poor last films, but Brosnan didn't.

If he's walked then they must have decided to have another die another day

Brosnan was a good Bond let down by dire stories. GoldenEye was superb, but all of its sequels have been disappointing. Imagine modern versions of the likes of Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, Goldfinger or You Only Live Twice with Brosnan as Bond. Compare and contrast to The World is not Enough and Die Another Day

not that bothered, each new bond is like watching the last to me. they tried something a bit different with DAD i guess, but it still wasn't particularly exciting to watch.

I just can't see Jesus Christ bedding all those women and shooting people. It would sort of ruin his 'peace to all men' routine. Then again, for a few quid to the Church he may!

Now that would be cool. Bond turns green when angry and then slices his ears off and stabs the bad lad 14 times in the head and then offers him a cigarette.

Its a shame Brosnan ended on his weakest movie, and imo not only his weakest but possibly the worst since Moonraker. Hopefully Bale will now fill the role!

David Arnold speaks: http://www.commanderbond.net/Public/...s/2467-1.shtml

Quote:
Andrew Collins of BBC 6 yesterday interviewed regular Bond film composer David Arnold, who confirmed that he is working on the upcoming twenty-first James Bond film, which will mark his fourth consecutive 007 score.

According to Arnold, "[The film] is going in a very, very interesting direction... We've taken [the movies] to a point where I think I've exhausted that particular scene of approach. What I'm already thinking of now is... you're at the bottom of the mountain again and you have to get back up to the top via a different route."

Arnold also commented that the film is still on target for 2005, contrary to rumours that suggested the film has been delayed. The composer also made no reference to the Brosnan/Bond saga that has been dominating the Bond 21 limelight over the last six months.

Although he wouldn't do it, I still think Paul Bettany would be perfect.

A little skinny perhaps but he could bring an intellectual/sociopathic aspect to the role that would give the whole thing a bit of edge.
