Thought it was OK. The 'super villain' thing is all a bit hokey. The new chimp was a nice touch though.

I thought it was good but very slow and doubt I'd watch again. The effects are amazing but just found it plodded along a bit too much and can't understand the ~95% it has on rotten tomatoes etc. We watched Dawn before seeing this one and I think Dawn was the more entertaining.

I thought it absolutely flew by because, you know, it was filled with interesting, likeable characters and an actual plot. I caught Transformers: The Last Knight the night before and I felt like I was sitting in that cinema for five ******* hours despite action setpieces going off every ten minutes because it's an interminable piece of **** just like every other Transformers sequel. (Unlimited card and wanted to experience a Transformers sequel at the cinema, it will be my only time )

It was 100x better than Transformers but I just felt it was a bit slow. The characters were ok, they're apes after all.

I loved it. I thought Dawn lacked something, but this was the best of the three.

Bad Ape was great and I've never been keen on Steve Zahn.

The CGI is flawless.

Personally thought the new chimp was almost too Jar Jar Binks at times.

The film itself is very good though.

War For The Planet Of The Apes

I went in with high expectations after reading other comments in this thread and was still blown away. Best Blockbuster this decade. Felt like a Kurosawa film at times!

Loved it - the running time flew by.
As a trilogy, it's excellent, but I still feel like Rise was the best of the three - the set up with how the virus spread and the interactions between Caeser and James Franco's and John Lithgow's characters were really well handled.

Bad Ape was definitely teetering on the edge on Jar-Jar land. The comedy bits were a little mis-placed I thought, coming right in the middle of supposed tense scenes.

Still, I enjoyed it overall.

Bad ape was a cross between dobby and that 'no,no,no, yes' bloke from the Vicar of Dibley.

I've no idea why I didn't enjoy this. Found it tedious and lacking in originality. The pay off was pretty thin on drama too. Just about watchable.

Caught it on Wednesday and loved it. Never saw the original series, but I doubt you were rooting for the Apes? CGI was phenomenal.

Saw this a few weeks back. I enjoyed it more than the previous two which I thought were both great. But this far exceeded my expectations , I really like the fact they didn't go for the obvious mass battle of Man Vs The Chimps, Gorillas and Orangtangas .
