Same. I was about to give up during the second episode, but the strange relationship between 'Sparty' and John Hannah's character (Brutalus? Ludicrus?) gave it a bit more depth and I've been enjoying it more since then. The most recent episode is the most gory to date, only the comic book violence keeps it tongue in cheek. Good stuff - looking forward to the next one.

Agree. Thought this episode was on a par with Rome's thirteen ep.

This was more boobtastic though

Lucy Lawless said in her EW interview before the show started airing that episode 5 is where it really hits it's stride!

Yeah, this continues to improve. That final battle was awesome & made up for the naked bloke wrestling earlier in the episode.

Got round to watching 1x04 and 5 great stuff. Love the fight scenes, love the boobs love the dialogue now that the actors are so much more natural in delivering it.

Sheer bloody entertainment at its best.

eta thread title needs to be changed IMHO: Spartacus: Boobs and Blood

Have to agree, it just gets better and better.

Loved Hannah's expletive laden rant at the guy who was part of the group who tried to assassinate him in episode 4.

Yeah, it's like the opposite of a swear-jar, the writers must be on some sort of bad-language commission, gaining an extra $50 bonus for every naughty four-letter-word pasted into the script.

Script-writer1: *giggles*

Script-writer2: "What's so funny?"

Script-writer1: "I've just thought up a new way to make Xena say 'Cock' again!"

Script-writer2 high-fives Script-writer1 ... "Brilliant!"
