Quantum Of Solace in IMAX ?

Following the amazing success of The Dark Knight on Imax, does anyone know whether Quantum Of Solace will get an Imax release - or if it was even partially filmed using Imax cameras like TDK ?

Thanks

I don't think it was, at least I haven't heard any news on any of it being filmed in IMAX. After the success of Dark Knight it might get an IMAX release, but probably after it has hit normal theatres.

I don't think we'll be seeing the real benefit of DK's success on IMAX for films that were put into production before its release. No-one predicted such a massive success from a film in the IMAX format.

Thats finished filming though hasn't it?

IMAX cameras are so big and heavy that they are hard to film with.

Yeah and it is going to be in IMAX. I saw the trailer when I went to see TDK, but I'm not sure how it's been done. I'm assuming it's along the lines of TDK with certain scenes in IMAX

Don't think anything in Watchmen has been shot on IMAX stock, its just gonna be shown in the normal 2.35:1 on the IMAX screen, like the 'normal' portions of Dark Knight appeared

And loud, apparently. An interview I saw online (might have been Chris Nolan, and possibly linked from here) suggested that it is very difficult to film anything intimate with IMAX cameras and get decent sound at the same time.

Also, it is the case that Watchmen is going to be a 70mm up-convert in regular 2.35:1.
