Taschen's The Godfather Family Album

As they did with the Kubrick Archives, it seems Taschen have taken an expensive lush book and made it a smaller, cheaper lush book

This time with Steve Schapiro's The Godfather Family Album. I think the proper version of this retails for £1000

Certainly looks nice when flicking through the pages on Taschens site. Link here to have a look http://www.taschen.com/pages/en/cata...mily_album.htm

It its anything like the Kubrick Archives it should a lovely item to own, especially for fans on the films.

£32.84 at Amazon

So mine. Old Man Roth, he hates stuff like this, but Johnny Ola goes for them every time.

Oooh, lovely, I'm having that - thanks for posting.

I'm a sucker for books like this, I've almost pulled the trigger on the Bergman Archive despite only having ever seen Wild Strawberries (I figured it might be a good kick to see more of his films and if it's anything like the Kubrick archives, it's bound to be lovely!)

I've not bought a taschen book before - is there much text in these, or is it all photos?

Mine showed up today, 'tis lovely. Nerd that I am, I find it interesting that the colour photos have all been graded with the same golden tones that were bestowed on the remastered movies.

CA: this particular book is a mix of photos and various articles & essays. Taschen's Kubrick Archives follows a slightly different formula, presenting stills of Kubrick's movies (which are composed so artfully they may as well be still photographs) in one section and then archival bits 'n' bobs in the other.

I'm on the verge of ordering this book on Amazon , but notice that there're 2 versions. There's a version at around £28 and an 'international edition' that's £35-ish.

Are there any real differences between the two? On Amazon it claims to have more pages in the international version [444 compared to 424 pages], but on other sites it says there're the same number of pages.

Is anyone able to clear things up for me? Can anyone who's bought the non-international version confirm that it has 444 pages?
